Coach Amorim and MU arrived in Malaysia by private plane
The match between the ASEAN All-Stars and MU in an international friendly will take place at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, May 28. Speaking to the press before the match at a press conference this afternoon (May 27), MU coach Ruben Amorim affirmed that his team will take the field with the determination to win.
"MU is honored to be in Malaysia to prepare for the friendly match with the Southeast Asian All-Star team. Through the match in particular and the event in general, MU can get closer to the fans. That is also the reason why MU has become one of the biggest football teams in the world," affirmed coach Amorim.

MU arrived in Malaysia last night (May 26), after a long flight on a private jet from Manchester. Coach Amorim brought to Kuala Lumpur the strongest squad, with stars such as Andre Onana, Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Amad Diallo...
According to coach Amorim, MU did not play a friendly match with the Southeast Asian Stars team for fun. "MU has the responsibility to bring a good match and wants to play with all their might. I always want MU to improve and the team needs to achieve that in every match. Some players are injured and cannot play the match against the Southeast Asian Stars, but they are still here. The young players are also ready if given the opportunity.
I don't know any specific names in Southeast Asia, but I know football here has developed," coach Amorim affirmed.
'MU must try very hard'
The defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final left MU empty-handed and without a ticket to play in the European Cup next season.
The "Red Devils" are only ranked 15th in the Premier League, and have gone 2 months without a win in the domestic arena. Taking charge of MU in the middle of the season, coach Amorim has not been able to win more than half of the matches he has played with his students.

"MU still has a lot of work to do, winning every match. As a member of MU, you always receive a lot of expectations. Not being able to participate in the Champions League next season, from a certain perspective, is an opportunity for the players to understand more about tactics and have time to prepare.
Everyone can see the effort and passion of the MU players. In the match against Aston Villa, when the pressure was gone, the whole team played very well. Last season, MU could not win a title, nor could they participate in the European Cup next season. However, that could change next season. We will overcome the difficulties," affirmed coach Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese coach is optimistic about the 2025-2026 season, when MU will focus entirely on domestic competitions with the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
"MU always has two plans, one is to participate in the Champions League, the other is not to participate in the Champions League. We bring in new players, prepare the team better, improve the team spirit. Of course, not being able to play in the European Cup, MU has to balance spending.
Over the past 6 months, the players have been training to understand my coaching method. MU is determined to win this match. Every position, every player is very determined. This is also an opportunity for them to show themselves," Coach Amorim affirmed.

Midfielder Mason Mount also commented: "We will take the field with a winning spirit, no matter what the match is. The whole team is a bit tired, but I am very excited to compete and meet the audience."
Coach Kim Sang-sik is cautious.
Leading the Southeast Asian All-Star team is coach Kim Sang-sik. Due to the withdrawal of some players such as Peeradol Chamrasamee (for family reasons) or Asnawi Mangkualam (to train with the Indonesian team), Mr. Kim currently has only 16 players left.
"I am honored to be in Malaysia. Thank you to the organizers, partners and MU for creating this match. The Southeast Asian All-Star team comes from many countries, football backgrounds and cultures, but in yesterday's training session, the whole team was very determined to prepare and aim for the best results," coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized.
The four Vietnamese players participating in this match include Nguyen Hoang Duc, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Van Vi and Nguyen Hai Long. This is an opportunity for the Vietnamese players to gain experience in preparation for the match against Malaysia on June 10, also at Bukit Jalil Stadium (2027 Asian Cup qualifiers).
