"My personal life is always in the news. And it's been for 30 years. It's a version of my personal life, put it that way," Pitt acknowledged, adding: "It's a nuisance that I've always had to deal with on various levels, big and small, while I'm doing the things that I really want to do."
The Oscar-winning actor said paying attention to such gossip "is always a distraction and a waste of time."
"I feel quite warm and safe around my friends, my lover, my family, with my understanding of who I am," he said, likening the inevitable gossip about him to "having a fly buzzing around."
Much of Brad Pitt's personal life has been reported throughout his career, most notably his relationship with Angelina Jolie.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's legal battle continues after divorce
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce was finalized last year after eight years of legal wrangling. The pair were once one of Hollywood's most glamorous couples. They were together for about a decade, raising six children together before marrying in 2014.
Regarding the years-long legal battle surrounding their divorce, Brad Pitt told GQ that for him, it was not a "big deal" and "just something that was slowly coming to fruition."
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still locked in a complicated legal battle over Jolie's sale of her stake in Château Miraval, the French winery they once co-owned and the estate where they were married. The case is still ongoing.
