On November 5-6, the Asia Media Leaders 2025 Conference took place at the Conrad Singapore Orchard Hotel in the heart of Singapore's vibrant Orchard Road district.

This is a forum organized by the World Association of Newspapers and Publishing Houses (WAN-IFRA) for press leaders from Asia as well as around the world to meet, share knowledge, exchange and learn.

VietnamPlus E-newspaper of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) was honored with the award "Best General News Graphics" in the "Graphics" category and was highly appreciated by the Organizing Committee.

Considered an essential event for all leaders and information and communication professionals within and outside the region, this 5th conference discussed at a strategic level the pressing issues facing the information and communication industry and shared knowledge and experiences of leading communication professionals on specific topics.

Attendees also listened to and participated in discussions around topics such as: How to plan, manage, navigate and thrive in today's uncertain world; How entrepreneurial thinking and innovation can grow journalism businesses; How increasing trust in media can boost profits; The impact of independent content creators on journalism and what can be learned from them; Artificial Intelligence (AI): Updates, strategies and forecasts; Innovation in media information; Trends and predictions for 2026 and beyond…

The conference focuses on Asia and highlights its relevance to the business environment in which Asian media operate.

During the conference, WAN-IFRA presented the Asian Media Awards (AMA) in various categories. There were 228 entries from 41 media organizations from 17 countries participating in this fierce competition.

The work “Hung Hy Thong Dau Nuoc” at https://www.vietnamplus.vn/50namgiaiphongmiennam/ of VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper was honored with the award “Best General News Graphics” in the category “Graphics.”

The work was released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and is part of the special information line A50 of VNA.

The work “Heroic Song of National Reunification” has a new graphic form with an interactive 3D game about the immortal symbol of the April 30 Victory with the liberation army's tank heroically entering the Independence Palace, becoming the pride of the entire nation in the aspiration to completely liberate the South and unify the country.

The VietnamPlus award is one of two new awards in the “Graphics” category (along with the “Best Healthcare Graphic” and “Best Climate Change Graphic”) this year, recognizing the creativity and effectiveness of visual journalism products. Notable media award categories honored by WAN-IFRA in 2025 also include “News” and “Press Photo.”

Speaking to a VNA reporter in Singapore, Mr. Thomas Jacob - Executive Director of WAN-IFRA - expressed his impression of the innovations in the field of information and communication taking place in Asia as well as the innovation and creativity in the entries from Vietnam.

“It is very exciting that the quality of entries from Asia is getting better and better and that is reflected in the awards ceremony. I congratulate all the winners and the winners who will go on to compete for the global award, which will be presented in Marseille (France) next year. I am also really impressed with what Vietnam has been doing, especially in terms of innovation. Last year, we saw a global award winner from Vietnam, which was a very special, very long, very unique and very impressive print publication, combining print and digital in a very clever and creative way. Congratulations,” he said.

This is the second time this year that VietnamPlus has been honored with a major award from WAN-IFRA. Previously, last April, VietnamPlus's work "70 years of Capital Liberation: Sacred and Glorious Hanoi " was also honored in the category of "Most Creative Digital Product" within the framework of the Asia Digital Media 2025 event organized by WAN-IFRA in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

Sharing his joy at consecutively receiving international awards, Editor-in-Chief of VietnamPlus E-newspaper Tran Tien Duan said that VietnamPlus has always received the attention and direction of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of VNA, and therefore pays great attention to innovation and creativity in journalism activities, especially in participating in domestic and international journalism awards. The fact that VietnamPlus has two products winning the WAN-INFRA award in the same year is an important testament to these efforts, as this is a valuable journalism award. These achievements create more motivation for the team of reporters and editors of VietnamPlus to continue to make creative and innovative efforts to bring products that interact better with readers, with more attractive content and presentation, and are highly appreciated by the international community, especially the world's leading media and press leaders.

Established in 1948, WAN-IFRA now has 3,000 news and technology publishing agencies, and 60 member press associations in 120 countries and territories. WAN-IFRA is headquartered in France and Germany, with offices in Singapore, India and Mexico./.
