Coach Calisto highly appreciates the new generation of players of the Vietnam national team.

" This is a match to meet, to make friends and meet old friends. I am very curious to know the new generation of Vietnamese players. Because I know Vietnam currently has a generation of very good players. I am curious to learn about them ," Coach Calisto shared after arriving in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Calisto returned to Vietnam after 5 years to attend the "Brand Launch - First" event. This is not only an occasion to honor and pay tribute to outstanding national players, but also to preserve and keep their glorious moments.

The "Return of Glory" match is one of the most notable programs in the series of events. Here, Mr. Calisto and Coach Phan Thanh Hung will lead two teams with members of former famous players and current stars of Vietnamese football.

Contemporary stars include Nguyen Hoang Duc, Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Tien Linh.

They had the opportunity to meet and interact with their seniors from the late 90s generation such as Tran Cong Minh, Do Khai, Le Huynh Duc, Nguyen Hong Son or the 2008 AFF Cup champions such as Le Tan Tai, Huynh Quang Thanh, Vu Nhu Thanh, Thach Bao Khanh, Duong Hong Son.

" The important thing is that I enjoy life in a place that is like my second home. I want to show everyone that I am now happier, more energetic, and have many goals in my life. I also know many players and former colleagues who have had a very good new life after football and they have things that football has helped them to have. I also want to know if there are still people pursuing a career in football? ", Mr. Calisto expressed.

Mr. Calisto worked in Vietnam from 2001 to 2011. He held the hot seat of the national team twice. His most memorable achievement was winning the AFF Cup 2008. Returning to Vietnam, the Portuguese coach was very happy to meet his former students and long-time friends.

He also has many plans during his 10 days here. He said: " I will visit some places, recall memories and wander through the old streets of Saigon, remember old friends, the beautiful memories we have experienced together. To me that is very important ."

The Golden Generation match with more than 50 famous players of Vietnamese Football at 5:00 p.m. on September 24 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City. All proceeds from ticket sales will be sent to football charity funds.
