At the Korea Travel Festa 2025 event on June 21, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam held a ceremony to appoint the head coach of the Vietnam national team, Mr. Kim Sang-sik, as the Honorary Ambassador of Korean Tourism in Vietnam.

Mr. Kim Sang-sik is recognized as a major contributor in bringing Vietnamese football back to its peak, especially after impressive victories in international tournaments such as the 2024 AFF Cup, defeating Manchester United 1-0 while leading the "ASEAN All-Stars" team.

As the Honorary Ambassador of Korean Tourism, Mr. Kim will accompany the Korean Tourism Organization in activities to promote the image of the land of kimchi closer to the Vietnamese people through creative communication campaigns and cultural and sports exchange programs in the coming time.

Speaking at the event, Coach Kim Sang-sik said: "I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Korea Tourism Organization for appointing me as an Honorary Ambassador for promoting Korean Tourism. I feel extremely honored to take on such a meaningful position.

During my time working and living in Vietnam, I realized that our two countries always have a lot of interest and deep affection for each other. Korean culture is loved by many Vietnamese people, and vice versa, Vietnam is also a country that many Koreans are interested in. I am very happy to be a bridge connecting the good relationship between the two countries.

I have directly felt that Vietnam and Korea are becoming closer through football. In the future, I will do my best to further promote exchange activities between the two countries, thereby introducing to the Vietnamese people the beautiful natural scenery, the diverse and rich traditional and modern culture, along with the warm feelings of the Korean people. At the same time, I will also constantly strive to make Vietnamese football and culture receive more attention in Korea," Mr. Kim affirmed.

This is a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese tourists to directly participate, experience and connect with Korean culture through practical interactive activities. We hope that the event will contribute to arousing interest and positive feelings towards Korean tourism in the hearts of the Vietnamese public," said Mr. Kim Jong-hoon, Acting Deputy Director General of the Korea Tourism Organization.

In order to promote bilateral tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Korea, on June 21 and 22, at GEM Center (HCMC), the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea organized the Korea Travel Festa 2025 - the largest festival promoting Korean culture and tourism in 2025.

The event brings cultural, tourism and entertainment experiences with a strong Korean feel, expected to reach more than 70,000 visitors, affirming the strong attraction of Korean culture to Vietnamese tourists. The appointment of Mr. Kim Sang-sik as Honorary Ambassador of Korean Tourism is one of the highlights of the event.
