Malaysia coach focuses on the performance of the current team. |
Speaking after the meeting on the morning of November 10, the Australian coach emphasized that he would not let off-field troubles affect his work. "Those issues are beyond my control, so I do not waste energy on them," Mr. Cklamovski shared. "I only focus on training, on the players and making sure the team follows the plan. My job is to coach, not to worry about politics or paperwork."
The Malaysian team was heavily affected when seven naturalized players were found to have violated regulations, including Gabriel Palmero, Rodrigo Holgado, Facundo Garcés, Jon Irazabal, Joao Figueiredo, Hector Hevel and Imanol Machuca. The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said it had asked FIFA to provide a detailed explanation and would seek legal advice before appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Despite the uncertainty, coach Cklamovski said the team is maintaining a high level of concentration. “As always, there will be noise outside, but what we can control is how we train and how we play to represent Malaysia. We want to inspire the fans through our spirit and performance on the pitch,” he said.
Under the guidance of Mr. Cklamovski, Malaysia is on an unbeaten streak in 2025. The team aims to end this year with a win against Nepal on November 18.
