Vietnamese in Japan turn to the Central region with a meaningful football tournament

The FAVIJA Champions Cup 2025, a national Vietnamese football tournament in Japan, aimed at the Central region affected by natural disasters, took place at the Redsland Sports Complex, Saitama City, Japan, on November 9.

The meaningful football tournament is organized by the Vietnam - Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.

The tournament has the participation of 32 Vietnamese amateur football teams who are the winners of regional tournaments organized by FAVIJA across regions of Japan since April this year (a total of 164 teams participated in the tournaments from the qualifying round).

Attending and speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Sau, Ambassador of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, said that the Vietnamese community in Japan is currently the second largest in Japan and is also the second largest Vietnamese community in the world . The Embassy always does its best to protect the rights of its citizens in the host country and to be an important bridge in international relations. Another important role is to help its citizens easily integrate and develop, raising the status of Vietnamese people in the host country.

The Embassy highly appreciates the role and significance of cultural and sports exchange events organized by FAVIJA, like this football tournament.

At the tournament, the organizers launched a fundraising campaign and placed donation boxes to send back home to help people in the Central region who are facing difficulties due to storms and floods.

According to Mr. Do Quang Ba, Chairman of FAVIJA, this is not only a sports playground, training health but also becomes an indispensable spiritual food for young Vietnamese people living abroad. Young Vietnamese people who love football have the opportunity to indulge their passion for the ball and it is also an opportunity for our overseas Vietnamese to meet and exchange with each other, strengthen solidarity in the community as well as tighten the close and friendly relationship between our overseas Vietnamese and the local people.

Meaningful football tournaments in the land of the rising sun

Football tournaments organized by FAVIJA have become annual playgrounds for young Vietnamese people living, studying and working in the Land of the Rising Sun.

In particular, through the meaningful football tournament towards the Central region, the organizing committee launched a fundraising campaign and placed donation boxes to send back home to help the people of the Central region who are facing difficulties due to storms and floods.

The championship cup belongs to FC T-Connect Binh Dinh

After a day of exciting and dramatic competition taking place simultaneously on 8 fields, the championship cup belonged to FC T-Connect Binh Dinh; runner-up belonged to FC Real Tobama; the two third-place teams were FC SG Watch and FC Komaki ST Mobile.

The organizers also awarded the Golden Boot and Best Player to player Vo Quang Nam of FC T-Connect Binh Dinh. The Best Goalkeeper award went to player Luong Huu Tuat of FC Real Tobama.
