Storm No. 13 made landfall in the Central Highlands and South Central provinces on November 6, causing serious damage to the power system, especially in the two storm centers of Gia Lai and Dak Lak . A series of power poles, medium-voltage lines and transformer stations were damaged, causing power outages in many areas.

Immediately after the storm weakened, EVNCPC immediately held an emergency meeting, urgently mobilizing more than 1,300 engineers, workers, and specialized equipment from all affiliated units. Shock teams quickly arrived at the scene to fix the problem, aiming to basically restore power to more than 1 million customers within the next 72 hours.

As of noon on November 7, the entire system recorded 463 medium-voltage incidents. EVNCPC has handled 110 incidents, and 353 are being urgently restored. For the 110kV grid, 30 lines have been removed, causing 20 transformer stations to lose power. However, many important lines and stations have been restored. Specifically, Gia Lai Electricity Company has restored 5/22 lines and 4/16 stations; Dak Lak restored 3/6 lines and 3/4 stations; Quang Ngai restored 1/2 of the lines.

Currently, Gia Lai province has about 630,000 customers (64.5%) and Dak Lak has more than 262,700 customers (27.7%) without electricity. Power units are making efforts on the spot, while receiving support from other Power Companies to speed up the progress. The top priority is to supply electricity to residential areas, medical facilities, communications and essential loads.

EVNCPC informed that on November 7, priority will be given to supplying electricity to the centers of wards and communes. The Corporation also committed to strive to restore the entire power supply in the Central Highlands region in the next three days, to ensure safety, stability and timely service to people's lives after the storm.
