Coach Polking is cautious, Coach Buriram is confident of "revenge" on Hanoi Police Club

"This will be a completely different match from the match between the two teams in the group stage. Our goal is the championship. We have played many fronts and advanced far, which creates a very excited and confident spirit for the players. The whole team knows how to handle the pressure because they are so familiar with big matches," Buriram United coach Osmar Loss Vieira said at a press conference before the first leg of the 2024-25 ASEAN Club Cup final.

Evaluating the opponent, coach Osmar Loss Vieira said: "Hanoi Police Club is one of the two strongest teams in this tournament when participating in the final match. They won the absolute number of points in the group stage, have a solid defense, a very well-organized and methodical midfield. It will be difficult for us to press them. But this is the last match, the match will be decided by the fighting spirit of the players".

Regarding the home advantage in the second leg of the final, coach Osmar Loss Vieira expressed his opinion: "That is not an advantage. If we do not achieve a favorable result tomorrow, we will face a lot of pressure when we return home."

On the other side of the front line, Coach Polking of Hanoi Police said: "Hopefully this will be a good match for both teams. Buriram is a very famous team in the region. In the previous semi-final, we received support from the audience and hope tomorrow will be the same.

Both teams have national players and quality foreign players, so this match will be of high quality. Suphanat is a classy player, his absence is a loss for Buriram. But they still have many excellent players, Thai national players and foreign players. They have depth of force."

"In the group stage, we won. But the final match was completely different. Compared to the group stage, they changed a lot of players and just won the Thai championship. So the emotions in the two matches were completely different. I don't understand why Hanoi Police were not allowed to play the second leg at home. Why was the most important match, the second leg, at Buriram's stadium?" Coach Polking concluded.

The first leg final between Hanoi Police and Buriram will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 14 at Hang Day Stadium.
