(NLDO) - The Vietnamese women's futsal team ended the group stage with a 0-0 draw against Iran and entered the quarter-finals of the Asian Women's Futsal Championship as the top team in Group B.

Before the final match of Group B of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship on the afternoon of May 11, both the Vietnamese and Iranian futsal teams had already qualified for the quarterfinals. This caused the two teams to enter the match with a cautious spirit, not focusing on the goal of winning.

The two halves passed at a slow pace with few notable opportunities ending in a 0-0 draw. Sharing after the match, the head coach of the Vietnamese women's futsal team said the important goal of the team was to preserve their strength and maintain their physical foundation for the next stage.

"In today's match, both teams had tactical calculations aimed at going deeper into the tournament. Therefore, the intensity of the match was not high. We proactively controlled the gameplay and maintained good physical condition for the players. We clearly defined the goal of the match as operating the gameplay, maintaining alertness and the best physical condition for the players. The important thing is to prepare carefully for the upcoming quarter-final match" - Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang expressed.

Speaking more about the opponents in the quarterfinals, Mr. Hoang said: "We have closely monitored and evaluated the opponents. The coaching staff will have appropriate tactical plans so that the team can best prepare for the upcoming match."

Regarding the squad, currently, the athletes of the Vietnamese women's futsal team are all in stable condition, have no injuries and are ready for the quarter-final match on May 13.

Vietnam's opponent is Thailand or Japan.
