Smart infusion pump wins first prize in startup competition

(NLDO) - Smart infusion pump equipment allows medical staff to configure, monitor and control remotely, and issue smart warnings.

On May 24, International University (VNU-HCM) organized the final round and award ceremony of the 7th startup competition - 2025.

This year's final round brought together the eight best projects, representing the innovative spirit of student groups.

In the final round, the project about The smart infusion pump device (in the medical field) of a group of students at Vinh Long Branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics won first prize.

The project aims at a safe, accurate and accessible remote infusion solution in the medical field. The product is designed to serve lower-level hospitals, remote clinics and home care or where compact, affordable equipment is needed but still ensures effective treatment.

The device allows medical staff to configure, monitor and control remotely via mobile application or computer, integrated cloud connection, available drug library, smart alarm and calibration capability without technician. The device is compatible with many types of syringes, lithium battery works continuously for 16 hours, supports remote software updates.

SP-03 not only overcomes the cost and flexibility limitations of traditional devices, but also opens up opportunities for widespread commercialization in the context of the growing trend of digital medicine and telehealth. The project aims to bring smart medical technology closer to the community.

The organizing committee also awarded second, third, consolation and potential project prizes to the projects.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice Principal of International University, said this is an annual competition to search for and support innovative startup projects, especially laboratory research products with market potential.

After 7 seasons of organization, the program not only contributes to the development of the innovative startup ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City through introducing many potential projects of the school to the community, but also inspires the spirit of innovative startup in students of the school in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general. The program is highly appreciated by many experts for the practicality and novelty of the participating projects.
