Failure to take advantage of opportunities created, especially in the second half, caused U22 Vietnam to lose 0-1 to U22 Uzbekistan at the CFA Team China - Panda Cup 2025 International Football Tournament, which took place on the afternoon of November 15 in Sichuan (China).

Evaluating the match, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that U22 Vietnam had met a quality opponent, well-organized and experienced in international competition. Conceding an early goal forced the team to make adjustments, but the team still maintained stability in their tactical operations.

U22 Vietnam regrettably lost to U22 Uzbekistan at Panda Cup 2025
“Today, the U22 Vietnam players played with determination and discipline. We met a very strong opponent, well-organized and with extensive international experience.
Despite conceding an early goal, the whole team kept their composure, tried to adjust and regain the rhythm of the game. I am satisfied with the efforts and attitude of the players,” coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized.
Besides, coach Dinh Hong Vinh also admitted that the team still has points to improve, especially in the ability to handle the final ball and maintain the pressing rhythm throughout the match.
In the match against Uzbekistan, U22 Vietnam created many opportunities in the second half but lacked a bit of precision and decisiveness to convert them into goals.
“This result is also a pity. The whole team created some good chances but lacked a bit of precision in the final situations.
However, this is an international friendly tournament, our goal is to build the squad, test the players and gain experience. The players will have a meeting to review the match and become more mature," coach Dinh Hong Vinh shared.

According to the schedule, the next opponent of U22 Vietnam is U22 Korea, a team that is considered to have a strong physical foundation, speed and modern playing style.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: “U22 Korea is a high-quality team, moving a lot and having good speed. We will analyze today’s match, consider the physical condition of each player to make appropriate adjustments.
The aim is to play more organised, keep the team compact and improve the quality of the final touches. At the same time, we will continue to create opportunities for players who need more playing time.”
U22 Vietnam will return to the training ground tomorrow, November 16, to prepare for the final match against U22 Korea, taking place at 2:30 p.m. (Vietnam time) on November 18.
This is considered an important opportunity for the team to continue to improve their playing style and evaluate their strength before the final stage towards the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
