Support women to promote their role in the collective economy

At the beginning of the year, the Government approved the Project to Support Cooperatives Managed by Women, Creating Jobs for Female Workers by 2030 (referred to as the Project) to promote the development of cooperatives. To launch the Project, the Women's Unions at all levels in the province have been implementing plans and solutions focusing on developing, consolidating, maintaining and improving the quality of operations of cooperatives managed by women; especially replicating effective models, developing the economy , and building prosperous and happy families.

Effective implementation of support programs

According to the Government Project approved in early 2023, the goal towards 2030 is to continue to consolidate, support, improve the quality and efficiency of operations for at least 1,500 cooperatives, 10,000 cooperative groups (THT) supported by the Women's Union at all levels; create stable jobs for 30,000 members and female workers in cooperatives and attract 100,000 female workers in THT. Female managers of cooperatives are trained and fostered to improve their management and operation capacity in accordance with production and business activities; train and foster members, workers in cooperatives, members, and women who want to participate in collective economic development.

Directing the implementation of the Project, Deputy Prime Minister - Le Minh Khai emphasized: This Project is expected to create favorable conditions for the Women's Union at all levels, especially in encouraging women nationwide to participate in the start-up and innovation movement, enhancing economic power, contributing to solving social issues such as building happy families, ensuring full rights and legitimate interests of women. Therefore, central ministries and branches pay attention to balancing and allocating funds in the national target program to implement the content of collective economic development; building vocational training programs suitable for female human resources. The People's Committees of provinces and cities should promptly direct the development of plans and implementation of the Project; pay attention to allocating resources, prioritizing integration into related programs and projects to effectively implement the Project.

Replicating and innovating effective models

To achieve the goals set by the Government, in the immediate future, the Women's Union at all levels in the province will deploy solutions to continue to innovate appropriately in implementing Project 939 "Supporting women to start a business in the period of 2017 - 2025". The subjects of the Project are especially interested in supporting women who have ideas and need to start a business, cooperatives, newly established enterprises owned by women. Priority is given to women from poor households, those in difficult circumstances, women from ethnic minorities, women with disabilities, women living in difficult areas, and areas where agricultural land has been converted.

In addition, continue to advise and propose to the province to implement the goals clearly stated in the Government's Project. In particular, pay special attention to upgrading more than 170 economic development models of members and women in the province. For models with potential scale, the Association will mobilize and support women to upgrade them into joint groups, cooperatives, and then cooperatives. For example, since the beginning of the year, the Association at all levels has established 10 new cooperatives and joint groups with over 170 members in industries such as: growing crops, weaving, knitting plastic ropes, raising livestock, etc. At the same time, the Association at all levels has also urgently supported the establishment of 4 cooperatives, with 120 members participating such as: Thanh Hung 2 General Agricultural Cooperative (Vinh Loi district); All kinds of dried products production cooperative (Bac Lieu city); Hong Phat Cooperative (Phuoc Long district); Dai Phu Xanh Aquaculture Service Cooperative (Dong Hai district).

To effectively implement the Project to support cooperatives managed by women, in the coming time, in addition to promoting the existing foundation and internal resources, the Unions at all levels are aiming to coordinate more closely with units and functional sectors; need the support of Party committees and authorities at all levels; consensus of enterprises, members, women... to achieve synchronization and high efficiency from the dissemination to implementation. When effectively implemented, the Project will not only help members and women promote their role in collective economic development but also have an important meaning in helping women actively participate in the process of socio-economic development and international integration of the country.
