The damp, cramped rented room is where Nguyen Quoc Bao and his mother stay temporarily while they are being examined at the National Children's Hospital. Due to illness, Bao can only eat and drink through a tube. Bao's mother, Pham Thi Quynh Anh, feeds her child through a tube as skillfully as a doctor, because this is her daily routine to keep her child alive.
During the visit, Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund Dinh Tien Hai kindly encouraged and shared Nguyen Quoc Bao's situation, and also presented him with 10 million VND in cash and gifts, hoping that this support would help his family overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Nguyen Quoc Bao, born in 2021, is a child with a serious illness and living in extremely difficult circumstances. At 2 months old, doctors concluded that he had congenital cataracts. At 5 months old, Quoc Bao was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and delayed motor development. He often suffers from pneumonia, stomach pain, and many health problems related to digestion and breathing...
Nguyen Quoc Bao's mother, Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Anh (village 7, Song Khoai commune, Quang Yen district, Quang Ninh province) faced countless difficulties. The family has 2 sisters, the mother passed away, the father had a stroke, the younger sister married a man from another commune, she herself is a single mother, the main laborer in the house, she takes care of everything. To have money to cover living expenses and take care of her child who unfortunately got sick, she did many different jobs such as: washing hair, selling household appliances, food and drinks online...
For the past 4 years, every month, Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Anh has traveled more than a hundred kilometers to take her child to the hospital, sometimes staying for a few days, sometimes even 1-2 weeks. Many sleepless nights watching her child, she only hopes that one day her child will live a healthy life like other children. She confided: “I have never thought of giving up. No matter how sick my child is, I always believe that as long as I keep trying, my child will still have a chance to live. I only wish for one thing: for my child to be healthy, to be able to walk, to talk and laugh like other children, and especially to be able to see the light of life.”
According to Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund Dinh Tien Hai, an important task of the Fund is to mobilize voluntary contributions from domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals, international aid and state budget support when necessary to achieve the state's priority goals for children. Therefore, along with giving gifts and cash as emergency support to help Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Anh and Nguyen Quoc Bao overcome immediate difficulties, the Vietnam Children's Fund hopes that this case of a child with a serious illness and in a particularly difficult situation will receive the attention of the community, helping Quoc Bao have the opportunity to recover soon and have a better life./.
