The theme of this year's campaign is "Proud of 20 seasons of Red Flamboyant Flowers - experience and maturity", marking the 20-year milestone of formation and development, attracting about 50,000 students to participate across the city.
At the program, in addition to the exciting performances, the Organizing Committee awarded scholarships to disadvantaged youth and children. In particular, 25 children were honored to represent the city to receive gifts from the city leaders.
At the ceremony, the Command Board of the Red Flamboyant Volunteer Campaign this year was officially launched with typical, enthusiastic faces.
This year's campaign includes 8 teams: Traffic Safety, Saigon River - My City's River, Proud of Vietnamese History, Children's Responsibility, Digital Literacy, Red Flamboyant Media, Support for 10th Grade Entrance Exam Scores, and Environmental Protection.
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasized the important role of summer activities and volunteer campaigns in training and fostering life skills and a spirit of dedication for the young generation.
“On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City Summer Activities Steering Committee, I highly appreciate the contents proposed in the campaign. June 1 is a very important milestone, Children's Day, we take care of children and at the same time, respond to activities in the month of action with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children" throughout the city. This is a campaign of great significance", said Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy.
Sharing about the meaning of this year's campaign, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Tran Thu Ha said that the message that the Hoa Phuong Do Volunteer Campaign Command wants to convey to students today is that they will be the ones to spread good things to the community, creating positive values for society.
“To do that, we will organize many activities for the city's Red Flamboyant volunteers to review the 20-year journey of the campaign through programs for young people. In particular, corresponding to the key content of digital transformation this year, high schools will establish community digital transformation models. Here, students will be equipped with digital skills associated with the "popular digital literacy" movement, and at the same time, they themselves will be propagandists, guiding digital skills for their family members," Ms. Tran Thu Ha emphasized.
At the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Summer Activities Steering Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union also launched the peak activity day "Volunteers for juniors" throughout the city, attracting more than 2,000 youth and children to participate.
