After 72 years since its establishment, SK is a multi-industry economic group with a market capitalization of nearly 200 billion USD, ranking second in Korea and among the top 100 largest corporations globally.
SK has more than 200 subsidiaries, with total revenue in 2024 reaching more than 150 billion USD in many fields such as energy, chemicals, telecommunications, information technology, semiconductor products, materials...
The Group has invested about 3.5 billion USD through M&A activities at Vingroup, Masan , Imexpharm (pharmaceuticals)... Currently, SK is researching a number of projects in the LNG power sector, including 3 projects that are proposed to be included in the green growth project portfolio and to deploy a comprehensive energy solution package in Vietnam.

After listening to Chairman Tae-Won Chey provide specific information on some contents related to SK's investment proposal, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that he had discussed and reported many times to senior leaders of Vietnam about the Group's investment goodwill.
"Vietnamese leaders welcome SK Group's projects and affirm that SK is an important strategic partner of Vietnam," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Regarding the proposals for projects to develop energy-industrial clusters, the Ministry of Finance - the Standing Agency of the Working Group, has compiled opinions from ministries, branches, and localities and reported to the Prime Minister, including recommendations for solutions to remove some obstacles related to LNG projects in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces.
The Deputy Prime Minister also appreciated SK's active cooperation, especially in sending a team of experts to complete specific proposals and closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities on the Group's investment plan.

Informing that relevant Vietnamese agencies are continuing to provide comments, the Deputy Prime Minister directed the Working Group to coordinate with SK to discuss, adjust, and implement the next steps and suggested that the Group cooperate with the Vietnamese Working Group, work closely with relevant ministries and localities to review and study adjustments in accordance with the goals of both sides.
Regarding cooperation in the field of innovation, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated SK's deep participation and active support for Vietnam in training semiconductor engineers and sharing innovative solutions in a number of industries.
Proposing that SK Group continue to promote cooperation activities in human resource development, and at the same time implement initiatives to promote Vietnam's innovation ecosystem, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to continue to closely coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to support SK.
