Completing the nomination dossier for "Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago" to be recognized as a World Heritage Site

The Government Office issued Document No. 4877/VPCP-KGVX dated July 3, 2023, conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the recommendation of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) for the Dossier "Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago" to request UNESCO to register as a World Heritage.

Cat Ba Archipelago was ranked as a Special National Scenic Landscape in 2013. Ha Long Bay was honored to be recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage for the second time in 2020.

The nomination of Cat Ba archipelago as a World Heritage Site aims to preserve, conserve and maintain the unique value of biodiversity for future generations, and at the same time helps us realize that Cat Ba archipelago is a priceless gift of nature to humans, the pride of every Vietnamese person.

Cat Ba Archipelago becoming a World Heritage Site is also expected to contribute to promoting economic , cultural and social development, improving the quality of life of Cat Ba people, promoting and enhancing the image and position of the country, and attracting investment in ecological economic sectors.
