Perfecting institutions and attracting investment to elevate Vietnam's logistics industry

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of November 29, in Da Nang City, the plenary session of the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2025 with the theme: "Vietnam Logistics - Reaching into the new era" officially opened. The forum was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that this year's Forum was organized to send a strong message from the Government on attracting and encouraging investment and developing logistics services with new policies that are strong, feasible and open and attractive to create a breakthrough driving force to promote economic development in general and the logistics service industry in particular.

"In the context of increasingly deep international integration, logistics is one of the important competitive advantages and an effective tool for countries to make the most of the benefits brought about by the integration process," Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized.

As the focal point for state management of logistics services, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has submitted to the Prime Minister the Strategy for developing Vietnam's logistics services for the 2025-2035 period, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, the goal in the next 10 years is to build and develop a sustainable, efficient, high-quality Vietnamese logistics service with high added value and strong competitiveness, maximizing Vietnam's advantages in the global supply chain and value chain, gradually realizing the goal of making Vietnam a strong country in logistics, actively contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. Along with that, the merger of administrative boundaries, the dissolution of intermediate administrative levels, and the implementation of two-level local government also contribute to expanding the space for infrastructure development and logistics services.

These are very important contents, of practical relevance not only for the development of Vietnam's logistics service industry, but also important for the development of the country's economy in the new era.

The Minister suggested that at the Forum, delegates, based on practical experience in each industry, field, and locality, focus on exchanging and discussing to clarify the results achieved; limitations, weaknesses and causes, especially subjective causes; draw lessons in developing logistics services in our country as well as identify opportunities, advantages, difficulties and intertwined challenges.

From there, give advice and recommendations to competent authorities on solutions to support logistics service enterprises to promote their internal strength, take advantage of opportunities to improve quality, operational efficiency and competitiveness, build brands, and anticipate trends and policies for logistics service development in Vietnam in the coming time.

At the same time, propose strong and feasible policy mechanisms to encourage and attract investment in developing logistics infrastructure projects, creating new breakthrough momentum to promote the rapid and sustainable development of Vietnam's logistics industry in the new era.

Vietnam Logistics Forum is the leading annual event of the industry, chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the goal of promoting the development of logistics services, strengthening logistics links with manufacturing and import-export industries, and at the same time being a place for dialogue, exchange, and updating important information on the domestic and international logistics sector.

Entering its 13th year, the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2025 is considered an important milestone for the industry. This year, coincides with the completion of the goals in Decision No. 221/QD-TTg dated February 22, 2021 of the Prime Minister, amending and supplementing Decision No. 200/QD-TTg dated February 14, 2017, approving the Action Plan to improve competitiveness and develop logistics services by 2025.

With the theme "Vietnam Logistics - Reaching into a New Era", the 2025 Forum is both an event continuing the annual series of activities and expressing the aspiration to elevate the logistics industry in a period of strong transformation. The Forum creates opportunities for management agencies, experts and businesses to discuss and propose solutions for industry development, promote the improvement of governance institutions and affirm the pivotal role of logistics in the national economy.
