(HG) - In May, total revenue from trade and consumer services reached VND4,836.97 billion, up 0.69% over the previous month. Retail sales and service revenue both increased slightly over the previous month. Specifically, retail sales of goods reached VND3,513.2 billion, equal to 100.87% over the previous month and 98.85% over the same period. Retail sales of all types of goods in the month were stable but somewhat less vibrant than the previous month. Most groups of goods are expected to increase over the previous month but are still at a low level. In particular, gold, silver and gemstone trading activities have been vibrant and have increased relatively in recent months.

Estimated implementation in the first 5 months of 2024, total retail sales of goods, revenue from consumer services and accommodation, catering, tourism and travel services reached 24,528.99 billion VND, compared to the same period last year by 107.72%. The structure of industry groups contributing to the overall growth of trade and services remains stable without much change. Total retail sales revenue is still the key industry that directly affects the overall growth rate. The scale of revenue generated by this industry accounts for more than 70% of total revenue.
