One of the important criteria when candidates consider choosing their application is tuition fees (HP). Therefore, along with admission information, universities are in the process of announcing the expected HP to be applied to students admitted to the 2025 enrollment period. Information from the announced schools shows that health is still the leading industry in terms of HP, both public and private schools.
Parents and admitted candidates wait to complete admission procedures, including paying tuition fees.

Recently, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced the tuition fee for the 2025 regular university enrollment. The three majors with the highest tuition fee of over 63 million VND/year include: medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. The remaining majors have tuition fees ranging from over 44 to nearly 60 million VND/year. Compared to 2024, the tuition fee for most majors has increased by 10 - 12 million VND/school year. In particular, the tuition fee for the 2025 medical major increased by nearly 14 million VND compared to the 2024 enrollment.
Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy also announced the expected HP in 2025. Of which, the medical and pharmaceutical industry has a revenue of 40 million VND/year, with the medical industry alone increasing by 8.9 million VND compared to the previous year. The remaining industries have expected HP in 2025 at 30 million VND/year (an increase of 6.4 million VND compared to 2024).
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is expected to not increase tuition fees compared to 2024. Candidates admitted in 2025 are expected to pay tuition fees from 30 to 84.7 million VND/year depending on the major. Dentistry has the highest tuition fee of 84.7 million VND. Next is medicine, 82.2 million VND/year. Pharmacy is expected to collect 60.5 million VND/year. Traditional medicine, preventive medicine, and pharmaceutical chemistry all have expected tuition fees of 50 million VND/year. Majors with the same tuition fee of 46 million VND/year include: nursing, nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, midwifery, nutrition, dental prosthetics, medical testing, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and public health. For the first time, social work has the lowest tuition fee at 30 million VND/year. Although not increasing, the school's training fee for doctors is still among the highest in the public school sector.
Private sector, HP of health sectors at many different levels. For example, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy is expected to increase from 60 million VND/year to 65 million VND/year for the medical major with Vietnamese training program. Notably, for the medical English training program, this school announced the expected HP at 5,000 USD/year (about more than 129 million VND). Traditional medicine HP is 50 million VND/year, preventive medicine 40 million VND/year. The lowest is the public health major, expected to collect 20 million VND/year.
Hong Bang International University announced the temporary tuition fee for the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year at 72 million VND for the majors of dentistry and medicine. With 15 semesters, the total tuition fee for these two majors is 1.080 billion VND (excluding physical education and national defense and security education). The temporary tuition fee for traditional medicine is 32 million VND/semester, pharmacy is 23 million VND/semester, and other bachelor's degree majors are 22 million VND/semester (10 semesters/course). In the 2024-2025 school year, the school announced the tuition fee in the enrollment plan for the majors of medicine and dentistry in Vietnamese language program at 210 million VND/year; other majors in Vietnamese language program are about 55 - 90 million VND/year.

Psychology, journalism... tuition fees increase
Universities training in other fields also plan to increase tuition fees for students admitted in 2025.
The estimated tuition fee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University) is over 16.6 - 29.8 million VND/year in the 2025 - 2026 school year. Of which, group 1 has an estimated tuition fee of 16.6 million VND/year for majors such as religious studies, philosophy, geography, history, Russian, Spanish, Italian languages, etc. Group 2 has an estimated tuition fee of 24.2 million VND/year for majors such as sociology, linguistics, cultural studies, office administration, social work, etc. Group 3 has an estimated tuition fee of 29.8 million VND/year for majors such as psychology, journalism, international relations, Japanese language, Korean language, Chinese language, etc. The tuition fee for international training programs is 60 million VND/year.
Thus, compared to the 2024-2025 school year, the tuition fee for the international training program of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City will not increase. Meanwhile, the majors in the standard tuition fee program will increase at different levels, with the highest increase rate belonging to the majors: psychology, journalism, multimedia communications, international relations (increased from 24.2 to 29.8 million VND). The highest fee applicable to foreign students majoring in Vietnamese studies is 72 million VND, also an increase of 6 million VND compared to 2024.
There is a tuition association program of 256 million VND/year.
The tuition fee for 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City Open University is expected to increase by 1.5 - 2 million VND compared to the previous year depending on the major. In particular, the tuition fee for popular majors is expected to be from 24 - 28.5 million VND/year. For high-quality programs, the tuition fee is from 46.5 - 49.5 million VND/year.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has also announced the tuition fee in 2025. Compared to last year, the tuition fee for programs will increase by more than 200,000 VND/credit. In particular, the tuition fee for Vietnamese programs is about 1.1 - 1.3 million VND/credit. The program is taught in English and practice, the unit price is calculated 1.2 - 1.4 times higher than the Vietnamese program. Particularly for training in Vinh Long, the tuition fee for the 2025 - 2026 school year is 60% of the facility in Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced the tuition fee in 2025 from 30 to 80 million VND/year. Of which, the training programs with the lowest tuition fee of 30 million VND/year include: 40 standard majors, 15 talented majors, 8 high-quality Vietnamese-French engineering majors. The training programs with tuition fee of 60 million VND/year include: 1 Japanese transfer major, 2 Japanese-oriented majors. The programs with tuition fee of 80 million VND/year include: 1 advanced program major, 27 majors taught and learned in English, the first 2 years of the international transfer program. In 2025, for the first time, the school has 2 majors in the international engineering bachelor's joint program with tuition fee of 256 million VND/year.
HP expects that in 2025, some other schools will also increase compared to 2024. For example, the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) from 27.5 million VND/year (2024) to 31.5 million VND/year (2025); Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking from 21 million VND/year to 24.2 million VND/year; University of Finance and Marketing will increase from 805,000 - 1,798,000 VND/credit to 845,000 - 1,753,000 VND/credit...
Some private schools announced that their tuition fees remain stable throughout the entire course. For example, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has an average tuition fee of 13 - 15.5 million VND/semester (depending on the major, each course has 14 - 18 semesters). Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance has an average tuition fee of about 20 million VND/semester (there are 4 semesters per year)...
Meanwhile, there are still many public and private universities that have not announced enrollment information and expected HP in 2025.
Basis for universities to build HP
University tuition fees are currently applied according to Decree 97/2023 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 81/2021 of the Government regulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption, reduction, support for learning costs; service prices in the field of education and training.
In the 2025-2026 school year, non-autonomous public universities will be able to collect a maximum of 15.2 - 31.1 million VND in tuition fees per 10-month school year. This fee will increase by 1.7 - 3.5 million VND compared to the 2024-2025 school year, depending on the major.
Public universities have self-funded regular expenses, the maximum HP for the next school year is 30.4 - 62.2 million VND/year (an increase of 3.4 - 7 million VND compared to before). Public universities self-funded regular and investment expenses, the maximum HP collected ranges from 38 - 77.75 million VND/year depending on the major (an increase of 4.25 - 8.75 million VND).
Excluding programs that have achieved quality accreditation and are able to determine their own tuition fees based on economic and technical standards issued by the school, the university tuition fees for the coming school year will be at least 15.2 million VND and at most 77.75 million VND, depending on the type of school and training sector.
