Students study "Who Am I?" to understand themselves

The research topic "Who am I?" by two students Le Dong Nguyen and Nguyen Minh Huy - grade 11 of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) - received many good and interesting reviews at the final round of the Science and Technology competition for high school students in Ho Chi Minh City on February 4.

Sharing the reason for researching the topic, Le Dong Nguyen said that the topic studies the factors affecting the process of shaping the personal identity of teenagers in Ho Chi Minh City to help teenagers who are going through the identity crisis understand themselves better as well as find their strengths, passions and no longer be vague and confused about themselves. After the process of surveying, researching and summarizing, the results of the above research topic were published in the handbook "Who am I?". The handbook is like a dictionary that gives suggestions for teenagers to know how to perceive their own values, recognize and maintain healthy relationships, how to recognize unhealthy relationships, when to stop a relationship, how to build confidence, train themselves, set appropriate goals, how to build "psychological barriers"..." The handbook was made after 7 months of research, interviewing 400 students from 14-19 years old in 21 districts in Ho Chi Minh City" - Nguyen Minh Huy shared.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the Jury of the preliminary round of the City Science and Technology Competition selected the winning projects and 52 projects to participate in the final round at the city level. After that, the judges scored independently to select 4 projects to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition for the 2022-2023 school year. According to the Organizing Committee, this year's competition also has new points in the organization, such as using "anti-plagiarism" software; paying attention to the expressions and indicators: the suitability between students' knowledge and level with the content and implementation methods; the suitability and scientificity between the factors of time, facilities, and research means; the way to present the research; comparing the competition project with previous studies and between projects on the same topic; the school board's guarantee of the student's competition project; verifying the honesty through direct communication with the instructor and students...
