
At the reception, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics shared with Ms. Deirdre Ní Fhallúin about the important milestones in the Vietnam-Ireland relationship since the two countries established diplomatic relations (April 5, 1996) up to now; at the same time, he affirmed that Ireland is currently an important partner of Vietnam in the European Union (EU), especially in the fields of education-training, sustainable development and humanitarianism.
Ireland has coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to effectively implement many cooperation activities, such as: The Irish Embassy in Vietnam coordinated to organize seminars on public administration, sustainable development and gender equality; the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics sent staff to participate in the IDEAS scholarship program (postgraduate scholarships in economics and engineering) and short-term training courses sponsored by the Irish Government;...

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and Ms. Deirdre Ní Fhallúin exchanged and discussed solutions to soon realize the cooperation prospects between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Irish partners in the coming time through the Irish Embassy in Vietnam, especially cooperation activities in training and fostering officials; building research programs on digital transformation, green technology and renewable energy; research on social security and welfare state models, contributing to improving the quality of training, developing high-quality human resources, promoting scientific research and innovation in Vietnam.
