On the morning of June 5, Vietnam Aviation Academy announced its plan for regular university enrollment in 2025 with 4,600 targets for 38 majors/specializations in the fields of civil aviation, economics and society, along with tuition information.
Flexible and equal admission combination
This year, Vietnam Aviation Academy uses 5 admission methods, including:
Method 1: Admission based on 2025 high school graduation exam scores
Method 2: Admission based on the results of the entire 12th grade transcript
Method 3: Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi National University in 2025
Method 4: Admission by international admission certificate SAT/ACT/IB
Method 5: direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
MSc. Nguyen Minh Tung - Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of Vietnam Aviation Academy - said: "A new point in the academy's 2025 admissions is the flexible and equal admission combination, without applying deviation between the combinations".
Specifically, candidates can choose the following groups:
Elective subjects are the subjects with the highest score among the following subjects: math, English, literature, history, geography, economic and legal education, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, technology (subjects that do not overlap with subjects already in the group).
Candidates who win international, national and local titles and awards will have their awards converted into bonus points by the academy. Candidates who have won multiple awards will only receive the award with the highest bonus points.
Applicable to prize-winning candidates from 2022 - 2025, for both candidates graduating from high school in 2025 and independent candidates who graduated in previous years; not applicable to excellent student competitions for continuing education students.
Each admission method has its own admission score, calculated according to the maximum score of that method.
The Academy applies the rules for converting equivalent admission scores between groups and admission methods according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Candidates are only admitted to the highest admission wish in the list of registered wishes. Wishes in the same major are equal (regardless of high/low wishes).
If a candidate is admitted through many different methods in the highest admission wish, the method that the candidate is admitted through will be prioritized in order from high to low: high school exam score, transcript, Ho Chi Minh City National University capacity assessment, Hanoi National University capacity assessment, SAT, ACT, IB.
In case the candidates have the same admission score at the end of the list, priority will be given to the candidates with higher wishes.
* For English language majors and majors taught in English, in addition to the entry threshold requirements, candidates must meet one of the English score requirements. SAT, ACT, and IB methods do not consider English requirements.
Surprised with the major with tuition fee of 80,000 USD/year
Vietnam Aviation Academy announced tuition fees for 2025-2026 for all training programs ranging from 15.5 - 18.5 million VND/semester.
However, for the major in flight management and operations integrated with pilot training, tuition fees can be up to 80,000 USD/year - a figure that surprises many parents and candidates.
Explaining this, Mr. Tung said: "Students majoring in flight management and operations will pay 18.5 million VND/semester for the university program at the school. Then, to qualify to become a commercial pilot, students need to undergo intensive training courses with a total estimated cost of 2.45 - 2.95 billion VND."
Specifically, the training stages in the pilot training program include: PPL (private pilot license, 4 months, 60 flight hours): about 570 million VND; ATP (airline transport pilot theory, 6 months): about 160 million VND;
MCC & Jet FAM (flight crew coordination and jet familiarization, 1 month): about 215 million VND; CPL & IR-ME (commercial pilot license and multi-engine instrument flying, 140 flight hours): training abroad from 6 - 12 months, cost ranges from 60,000 - 80,000 USD (equivalent to 1.5 - 2 billion VND).
