In studying Uncle Ho, the associations at all levels under the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association have carefully organized the research, dissemination and implementation of directives, resolutions, conclusions and regulations of the Party and laws of the State, and well organized political activities to celebrate the major holidays of the Party, the nation and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
The whole association has carried out the motto "Learning from Uncle Ho from the smallest things and following Uncle Ho in daily work".
During the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disasters such as storms and floods, the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association donated 7.45 billion VND to the vaccine fund for epidemic prevention and control; supported the "Million Gifts" program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association with over 1.5 billion VND; and Veterans Association members exempted and reduced room rental fees of nearly 122.9 billion VND for workers.
Coordinated with the Vietnam Veterans Entrepreneurs Association to implement the program of 1 million notebooks for students in the Central Highlands and Binh Phuoc province, worth 6.2 billion VND; supported Veterans Association members and Dien Bien people with more than 600 million VND on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Liberation; supported people affected by Storm No. 3 (Yagi) with 9.6 billion VND.
During the peak emulation period of April 30, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association completed 10 projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. Visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries, a total of 22,543 gifts, worth over 8.6 billion VND; coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to present 6,595 gifts, worth 3.15 billion VND.
The Association has also completed the poverty alleviation program, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for members before April 30, 2025. In 2024 alone, 105 temporary houses were eliminated, and in the first 4 months of 2025, 75 temporary houses were eliminated.
In recognition and praise of the results of studying and following Uncle Ho, over the past 10 years, the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association has been awarded the emulation flag and Certificates of Merit in the prevention of Covid-19 pandemic by the Government to 7 outstanding collectives and individuals; the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association has awarded the emulation flag 3 times; the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has awarded many certificates of merit and noble rewards.
At the ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of War Veterans commended and awarded Certificates of Merit to 25 collectives. 51 individuals have had outstanding achievements in 10 years of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, period 2016 - 2025.
Also at the ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association presented 24 bicycles to children of veterans in Binh Thuan province and a house worth 60 million VND to a family of a veteran association member in Binh Thuan province who is in difficult circumstances.
