Ms. Vo Thi Mo (aka Bay Mo), former Platoon Leader of the Cu Chi Female Guerrilla Platoon - a unit awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State in 2018.
According to Ms. Vo Thi Mo, on November 10, 1965, the Cu Chi District Women's Guerrilla Team was officially established. Initially, the Team consisted of 3 members: Ms. Nguyen Thi Ne (Bay Ne) as Team Leader, Ms. Tran Thi Nho (Ut Nho) as Political Commissar and Ms. Le Thi Suong, the first soldier of the unit.
Since the unit was founded, many women have become heroes and brave warriors. Moreover, being female, they have many advantages in participating in the fight on all three fronts: politics, military and propaganda. Ms. Vo Thi Mo was the Platoon Leader of this Platoon from 1967-1968. She fought with the unit to repel many enemy attacks.
In a warm and sincere atmosphere, representatives of the Women's Union of Hiep Tan Ward and the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Hoa Thanh Town kindly inquired about the health and life of Ms. Vo Thi Mo.
The delegation expressed deep gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of the female guerrilla in the resistance war for independence and unification of the country; hoping that Ms. Vo Thi Mo will continue to encourage her relatives and descendants to promote the family tradition and make many positive contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
