Training conference on literary and art theory and criticism in 2023

(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the morning of August 22, in Ninh Binh province, the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts opened the training conference "Improving awareness, qualifications, capacity; innovating content and methods of leadership and management of literature and arts in the new situation".

Comrade Nguyen The Ky, former member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, delivered the opening speech at the conference.

Attending the training conference were nearly 250 cadres and experts from the Propaganda Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, press, publishing, cultural and artistic agencies in 46 provinces and cities in the Northern region and some localities and units in the Southern region. The Quang Ngai delegation had 5 members attending, led by Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Vo Dinh Tra.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen The Ky, former member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, emphasized that to date, Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo (10th tenure): "On continuing to build and develop literature and arts in the new period" has been in effect for 15 years. The fact that the Politburo has dedicated a very important resolution to lead, direct and orient the development of literature and arts strongly demonstrates the Party's innovation in thinking, content and leadership methods for literature and arts - "a very important and particularly delicate field" of the country's culture.

The practical life of literature and art in our country over the past 15 years has been very vibrant, with many positive results and changes. Difficulties and obstacles facing literature and art have been gradually removed. The activities of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Art Associations, central and local specialized literature and art associations have had many positive changes, becoming more proactive, dynamic, practical and effective.

However, in addition to the advantages and important results, in some provinces, cities, agencies and units, there are still many limitations, shortcomings and weaknesses. Therefore, the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts has chosen the theme for this year's training conference as "Improving awareness, capacity level; innovating the content and methods of leadership and management of literature and arts in the new situation".

The training conference aims to exchange experiences and help trainees consolidate and grasp the viewpoints and policies on cultural, literary and artistic development of the Party and State; some issues arising in practice, and improve their capacity to handle issues arising in the literary and artistic life in localities and units.

At the conference, delegates listened to 6 topics: Looking back at 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo (Term X): "On continuing to build and develop literature and art in the new period"; Overview of the current literary situation; Innovation of the activities of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Art Associations and Central specialized literature and art associations in response to new requirements; Discussion of the central character of literature today; Current work of theory and criticism of literature and art, current status and development requirements; Cultural industry and the position and role of literature and art in the development of cultural industry.

The training conference will take place until August 25, 2023.
