Recently, in Warsaw (Poland), the Vietnamese Association in Poland held a ceremony to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding and the 7th Congress, term 2024-2029. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai; Head of the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Vietnamese Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tu Thanh Hue ; President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe Hoang Dinh Thang and more than 200 members and delegates from Vietnam, the Czech Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany...
Reviewing the establishment process and activities over the past 25 years, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Poland, said that since its establishment in March 1999, the Association has had many practical activities in many fields such as helping people resolve cases related to law, security, order, cultural activities, sports , charity, foreign affairs, spirituality... building the Vietnamese community in Poland to unite, integrate with the host country, preserve and introduce national identity, turn towards the homeland, contributing to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Poland.
Since 2019, the Vietnamese Association in Poland has carried out many meaningful activities such as supporting Vietnamese people from Ukraine to take refuge in Poland, supporting families affected by the fire at Marywilska 44 shopping mall; organizing donations to support people affected by recent storms and floods in the North.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai reviewed the main features of the development of the Vietnamese community in Poland and the establishment of the Association and the Association's positive contributions to community activities. The Association is a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Poland. The Ambassador affirmed that the Embassy will continue to accompany the Association of Vietnamese in Poland, urging the local government to recognize the Vietnamese as an ethnic minority.
On the occasion of the 7th Congress of Delegates and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association in Poland, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy sent a congratulatory letter to the Association.
The letter stated that the past 25 years have been a vivid testament to the solidarity, cohesion and constant efforts of the Vietnamese Association in Poland. The Association has affirmed its role as a core organization, gathering the Vietnamese community, creating a strong bloc of solidarity, promoting the national cultural identity in the heart of a modern European country.
The Association is not only a place for overseas Vietnamese to exchange and support each other, but also a bridge connecting Vietnam and Poland, contributing to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries. These efforts not only help the overseas Vietnamese generation to continue to stay close to their roots but also contribute to promoting the good image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.
Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy believes that the 7th Congress will open a new period with many outstanding successes, bringing the Association of Vietnamese in Poland to further development; hoping that the Association will continue to promote its core role in the Vietnamese community in Poland, contributing to promoting people-to-people foreign relations, strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Poland; making practical contributions to building the homeland and country of Vietnam to become increasingly prosperous, worthy of being an inseparable part of the great solidarity bloc of the Vietnamese people.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front awarded certificates of merit to 3 individuals and 1 group of the Association. The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarded certificates of merit to more than 10 individuals in the Vietnamese community in Poland; the Association of Vietnamese in Poland also awarded commemorative medals to groups and individuals who have made many contributions to the development of the Association.
After the celebration, the Vietnamese Association in Poland held its 7th Congress. The Congress elected the 7th Executive Committee consisting of 19 members. Mr. Tran Anh Tuan was re-elected as Chairman of the 7th Association for the 2024-2029 term.
