Hanoi Book Fair takes place from September 27-29

The Hanoi Book Fair 2024 attracts 200-250 booths of publishers, companies, and some publishing partners in Vietnam. In addition, a number of foreign diplomatic agencies in Hanoi and representatives of some organizations, associations and publishing associations in the region and the world will also participate in the program.

From September 27-29, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Hanoi People's Committee organized the Hanoi Book Fair 2024 in the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street area, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. This is an activity to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), 35 years since Hanoi was recognized by UNESCO as a "City for Peace ".

Within the framework of the Hanoi Book Fair 2024, in addition to bringing many book titles with rich and diverse genres, attractive content, and special incentive programs; publishers and book companies have prepared attractive and meaningful exchange programs, introducing new works to readers and carrying messages of pride about the cultural and historical traditions of Thang Long - Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.

The highlight of this year's Book Fair is the book exhibition with many good books about Hanoi, from history, culture to works about the people and traditions of the capital.

Some typical programs took place at the book fair, such as: Discussion, introduction of the book "The British East India Company in Dang Ngoai (1672-1697)" with guest author Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Discussion, introduction of the book series "History of Vietnam in pictures" with guest: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Ngoc Huyen, Faculty of History, Hanoi National University of Education; Series of events: exchange, launch of the poetry collection "The Secret in the Garden", author Nguyen Quoc Vuong and essay "A Thousand Seasons of Flowers", author Bang Son (Vietnam Women Publishing House); Exchange, introduction of the book "Ho Chi Minh Trail" with the participation of author Sherry Buchana, Mr. Nam Anandaroopa Nguyen (companion experiencing the Ho Chi Minh trail with the author).

Through 9 times of organization, Hanoi Book Fair has become a festival of exchange between publishing units nationwide, a cultural meeting place for book lovers, contributing to spreading and improving reading culture to a large number of domestic readers as well as international tourists.

This year, the Organizing Committee also launched a book donation program for schools in the suburbs of Hanoi, which were severely affected by storm No. 3.
