Today, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi begins.

This afternoon, August 21, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in Hanoi , term 2024-2029, will open at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace.

Taking place over 3 days from August 21 to 23, with the participation of 363 official delegates and 250 invited delegates, this is an important political event for the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Hanoi and member organizations to continue to thoroughly grasp and imbue the Party's viewpoints and Ho Chi Minh's thought on great national unity, mobilize all classes of people, promote patriotic traditions, arouse aspirations, build and develop a prosperous and happy country.

With the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Responsibility - Creativity - Development", the Congress has the task of comprehensively assessing the implementation results of the Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Fatherland Front Congress, term 2019-2024, drawing practical lessons, unifying the direction, tasks and action programs for the term 2024-2029.

This afternoon, August 21, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, term 2024-2029, will begin at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace.

The Congress will discuss and contribute comments to the draft documents of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress and propose amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; consult to elect the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee with reasonable numbers and structures, appropriate expansion ratios, ensuring representativeness, practicality, and typicality in terms of patriotism, capacity, dedication, responsibility, intelligence, and prestige; consult to elect a delegation to attend the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Along with the goals and 10 specific groups of targets, the Congress identified 3 breakthroughs for the work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the city in the coming term, which are: Strongly innovating the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the city towards the benefit of the country and people, flexibility, efficiency, and adaptation to the new situation; promoting the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in building the great national unity bloc, contributing to building a Cultural - Civilized - Modern Capital; improving the quality of social supervision and criticism, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people, practicing democracy, enhancing social consensus, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and government.

In particular, the Congress program will have 5 forums for exchange and discussion held in 5 districts (Bac Tu Liem, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Hai Ba Trung) chaired by the Chairman and 4 Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City coordinated to organize a political activity, propaganda and launch a special emulation campaign to welcome the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, which received positive response from the Fatherland Front of localities and the people of the capital.

In addition to the main activities, during the 3 days of the Congress, there were notable activities: Photo exhibition, "Solidarity, Creativity" space and launching of the "XVIII Congress" application; the art program to welcome the success of the Congress was held simultaneously at Ba Kieu Temple (58 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District) and 5 locations belonging to 5 emulation clusters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City (Long Bien District, Cau Giay District, Thanh Tri District, Phu Xuyen District, Son Tay Town)...

On the first day of the Congress, the program this afternoon (August 21) will include the following contents: opening of the Photo Exhibition, the "Solidarity and Creativity" space and launching the "XVIII Congress" application; consultation to elect the Presidium and Secretariat of the Congress; approval of the Congress Program and Regulations; summary report on the situation of delegates attending the Congress; summary report on comments and contributions to the draft documents of the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi, term 2024-2029; summary report on comments and contributions to the draft documents of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029; summary report on comments and suggestions to amend and supplement the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX; discussion...
