Doctor Vo Van Phuong, Head of the Department of Oncology - Nuclear Medicine, Ha Tinh General Hospital said: The Radiotherapy Center of the Provincial General Hospital is the first high-tech radiotherapy unit in Ha Tinh, inaugurated in early 2025.

The center has invested in a multi-energy linear accelerator radiotherapy system with a 160-leaf collimator, a modern 16-row SIM CT simulation system, allowing for accurate determination of the irradiation area and optimal radiation dose for each patient.

The team of doctors, engineers and technicians are all highly trained, with regular advice and support from experts and upper-level hospitals.

"According to the procedure, after being examined, the patient will be taken for a simulation scan to determine the location of the radiation therapy. After that, the medical team will plan to calculate the radiation dose for the tumor, consult directly with experts at higher levels, and then take the patient for radiation therapy," added Dr. Vo Van Phuong.

According to statistics, after more than 5 months of operation, the center has brought practical results to patients. More than 1,000 patients have received high-tech radiotherapy at the center.

All radiotherapy costs are covered by health insurance according to regulations, thereby contributing to helping patients receive effective treatment right in Ha Tinh. It is known that in the past, each year, the province had to transfer about 4,000 cancer patients to higher-level hospitals for treatment, causing many difficulties and costs for patients.
