Prepare for every situation
The Hanoi City 10th Grade Exam Steering Committee said that 100% of the exam sites in the city have completed all preparations in all aspects and are ready to welcome candidates.
Hanoi has arranged 201 official examination sites, more than 4,400 examination rooms, and a number of backup examination sites in districts, towns, and cities, ready to respond to unexpected situations such as bad weather, power outages, or other objective factors. This year's 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi took place in the context of 40 high schools being repaired and renovated, such as Viet Duc High School, Vietnam - Poland High School, Ngoc Hoi High School, etc., so the number of exam scores at secondary schools increased compared to last year.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Anh, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cau Giay District, said that this year, the number of students registered for public high schools in the district is 5,466 (a decrease of 385 students compared to the 2023-2024 school year), 5 entrance exam points for grade 10 (2 exam points less than last year).
Mr. Le Duc Thuan, Head of the Ba Dinh Department of Education and Training, said that he has organized the dissemination of exam regulations and admission regulations and especially noted new points for candidates. This year, Ba Dinh district has nearly 3,100 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam, including 5 independent candidates.
The District Examination Steering Committee established 6 working groups to be on duty at the following examination sites: Phan Dinh Phung High School, Pham Hong Thai High School, Nguyen Trai High School, Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School, Thanh Cong Secondary School and Ba Dinh Secondary School. Of which, Thanh Cong Secondary School and Ba Dinh Secondary School are two specialized examination sites for candidates applying to Chu Van An High School for the Gifted.
Fairness for candidates
Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong affirmed that the city will continue to implement many innovations in the 10th grade admission process to reduce pressure on students and ensure fairness and transparency.
According to information from the Hanoi Departmentof Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, the city will have about 127,000 students taking the junior high school graduation exam, of which nearly 103,000 candidates will take the entrance exam to grade 10 public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year.
One of the notable new points is the adjustment of the way of calculating admission scores. Instead of multiplying the coefficient of 2 for Math and Literature as in previous years, this year, the admission scores of 3 subjects are not multiplied by the coefficient.
This calculation method aims to ensure fairness between subjects and encourage students to study all subjects equally. In addition, to reduce pressure on students, the city has increased the enrollment rate in public schools to about 64%, an increase of 3% compared to the previous school year.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, Principal of Nguyen Du Secondary School, Hoan Kiem, affirmed that before the exam, teachers of Math, Literature, and English reviewed each task with students, reminding them to absolutely not violate exam regulations... Ms. Huong said that due to anxiety and stress, candidates are very likely to make mistakes such as forgetting to leave their phones outside the exam room or giving the wrong exam code.
One of the things that teachers especially emphasize is checking the exam papers within the first 5 minutes after receiving them from the invigilator. If the exam papers are found to be missing pages, have blurred prints, are torn, or have technical errors, candidates must immediately notify the invigilator within 5 minutes of the test starting time.
After this time, if no feedback is given, candidates will be responsible for any problems related to the exam. Each exam site has the original exam. If feedback is given promptly, the exam site leaders will compare it with the original exam to handle it immediately, ensuring that it does not affect the exam time.
During the final review sessions, the school guides 9th grade students in problem-solving skills in the exam room. In addition to checking the exam papers, students also practice skills in case of situations such as lack of exam tools, forgetting or losing personal documents, being sick, filling in the wrong exam code, wrong registration number, etc.
In such cases, candidates need to stay calm, immediately notify the supervisor for instructions, and absolutely do not leave the examination area to return to get things, to avoid violating or being late. If the candidate forgets or loses the examination ticket, they can make a commitment to follow the supervisor's instructions to take the exam normally.
One of the mandatory and strict regulations that candidates need to pay special attention to is that if they arrive more than 15 minutes late after the test start time signal, they will not be allowed to take the test that session.
The situation of students falling asleep, mistaking the exam location, leading to late entry into the exam room, losing opportunities happens almost every year. Therefore, when disseminating the exam regulations on the morning of June 6, the exam supervisor emphasized this content. Candidates need to note that one of the principles for admission to public schools of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is that candidates must complete all 3 prescribed exams. If they miss one exam, they will not have the opportunity to participate in the admission process.
Nearly 100% of candidates came to complete exam procedures
Hanoi Department of Education and Training informed that yesterday, nearly 100% of candidates registered to come to complete procedures for the 2025 public high school entrance exam. Facilities at the exam sites are fully prepared according to regulations. 100% of the exam sites have coordinated with security forces and police to fully prepare plans to ensure safety and security in the exam site and the area outside the exam site gate; each exam site has a backup generator. The Department of Education and Training has directed to strengthen measures to ensure security and safety at the exam sites, the preservation of candidates' personal belongings, plans to ensure food hygiene and safety, coordination of traffic flow, and storm and flood prevention.
