More than 400 kites attended the art kite festival in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to celebrate the 30-4 holiday.

On the evening of May 1, in Vung Tau city, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province opened a series of cultural and sports events including an international sailing race; an art kite festival and a lion and dragon dance competition in 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The series of events will include 20 national and international teams participating in the sailing competition (scheduled to take place from May 3); 20 national lion and dragon dance teams participating in the lion and dragon dance competition (from May 1 to 3). Along with that, the Kite Art Festival will have the participation of more than 400 large kites (from May 1 to 3). These are provincial-level events held on this occasion.

"After 50 years of unification with the country, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has grown strongly, becoming a bright spot in terms of economy , culture and tourism in the region and the whole country. Today's event is an opportunity for us to honor traditional culture, demonstrate the youth, the aspiration to fly high and reach far of our homeland and country, creating a more vivid image of a beautiful, integrated and developed Ba Ria - Vung Tau", said Ms. Tran Thu Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Along with the three provincial events mentioned above, on May 2 and 3, at Ho Tram Sea Square, Xuyen Moc district, there will be a hot air balloon performance and a music event "V-Fest Evolution", bringing together Vietnamese and international artists and bands with exciting performances.

According to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the series of cultural and sports events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day aims to promote the image of Ba Ria - Vung Tau tourism as dynamic, friendly and attractive; attract about 50,000 more visitors to the province during the holidays, increase accommodation service revenue by about 60 billion VND and generate revenue of about 30 billion VND from food, transportation, shopping, entertainment services...

On this occasion, 14 cultural and sports events also took place in the localities of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Notable among them were the “Ba Ria New Road - Second Time” cycling race; culinary festival, traditional martial arts tournament, “Long Dat Discovery” running race...
