More than 400 works participated in the Artistic Photography Contest "Hai Phong before the new era"

To celebrate the major holidays of the country and the city, the art photography contest with the theme " Hai Phong before the new era" was launched early, professionally sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. The contest focuses on exploring the depth of the topic, reflecting the comprehensive development of Hai Phong city in the renovation period. After a short time of launching, the Organizing Committee received more than 400 works from 55 authors from 4 provinces and cities across the country. The Jury of 3 photographers who are members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists selected 70 excellent works for exhibition, belonging to 24 authors.

In the end, the Organizing Committee awarded 11 prizes, including 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 5 Encouragement Prizes. Notably, the 6 works that won the highest prizes (First, Second, Third) were awarded certificates by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and were scored for membership or title conferment according to the regulations of the Central Association.

According to the Jury, this year’s entries are of good quality, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of social life, as well as the socio -economic development of Hai Phong. The contest also saw the participation of many young authors from photography clubs in the city, with most of the awards being given to these promising faces.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to outstanding works.

At the closing and award ceremony, the Organizing Committee honored the work “Connecting the New Era” by author Pham Van Thanh as the first prize. In addition, two second prizes, three third prizes and five consolation prizes were also awarded to other excellent works. The winning works not only captured typical moments of the modern, dynamic life of Hai Phong city but also demonstrated the creativity, multi-dimensional perspective and spirit of exploration of the photographers.

Also within the framework of the ceremony, the Organizing Committee solemnly performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Hai Phong Art Photography Exhibition 2025. The exhibition introduces 70 typical works, vividly reflecting the appearance of the Port City in the new development period, with creative and emotional perspectives of the photographers.
