More than 700 Buddhist monasteries in Dong Nai simultaneously hung the national flag to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

(ĐN) - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, at exactly 6:00 a.m. on April 30, more than 700 Buddhist monasteries in Dong Nai simultaneously hung the national flag; rang bells and drums and chanted prayers for national peace and prosperity, and prayed for heroic martyrs and those who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war for national independence and national reunification.

Implementing the official dispatch of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on hanging the national flag and ringing bells and drums at all monasteries on the morning of April 30, the Provincial VBS Executive Committee has deployed to the Executive Committees of the VBS in districts, cities and all monasteries in the province to carry out this meaningful activity.

At the Provincial Association Pagoda (headquarters of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Hiep Hoa Ward, Bien Hoa City), Venerable Thich Thien Tri, Chief of Office of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said that at exactly 6:00 a.m. on April 30, monks at the pagoda solemnly organized the ringing of bells and drums to celebrate the Liberation Day of the South, National Reunification, and commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs, those who have contributed to the country.

* Also this morning, at exactly 6am, monks, nuns and Buddhists of Hoang Mai Pagoda (Cam My district) rang the bell and drum to celebrate the Liberation Day of the South, National Reunification Day and chanted prayers for national peace and prosperity, for heroic martyrs and those who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war for national independence and national reunification. Before that, the pagoda organized gift giving, visited families with meritorious services, and the poor in the area; and gave away hundreds of free meals to the people.

* In addition to the bell and drum activities to celebrate the Liberation Day of the South and national reunification, chanting prayers for national peace and prosperity, Ngoc Xuan pagoda (Long Khanh city) coordinated with the Bao Vinh ward government to give bicycles and dozens of gifts to students who have overcome difficulties to study well in the area.
