More than 900 new students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture started the new school year

Attending the opening ceremony were Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's grassroots Party Committee Luong Van Nhien, along with the Board of Directors of the schools of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, partner units, and a large number of lecturers and students. At the opening ceremony, all delegates and students listened to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Nhan, Chairman of the School Council read the congratulatory letter fromthe President on the opening day.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Dung, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, said: "In the 2022-2023 school year, the School has achieved most of its targets and achieved good results in its tasks. However, in the context of limited human resources, financial difficulties, uneven experience and working capacity, and in the process of performing its tasks, the School is also affected by objective and subjective factors, which are not small,... so somewhere, here and there in the School's activities, there are inevitably shortcomings, problems, and limitations that need to be addressed, overcome, and lessons learned in the process of performing the School's tasks in the coming time."

Mr. Nguyen The Dung said that from the beginning of September 2023 until now, the whole University has actively completed the university admission work, organizing the reception of 907 candidates admitted to 14 university training majors and specialties of the University out of a total of 900 enrollment targets that the University must implement in 2023. Thus, the university admission work in 2023 reached over 100% of the target. In the past 10 days, the Student Affairs Department has chaired the organization of the first week of civic activities for students, and after the Opening Ceremony, more than 900 new students will enter the new school year. “On the occasion of the beginning of the course, I would like to wish all new students three things: Quickly approach and get used to the new living environment, master the activities of the School; prepare well mentally to study and practice successfully; always stay healthy and create peace of mind for the family”, the School Principal advised.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture rewards 14 new students with the highest admission scores in the 2023 enrollment period in 14 training majors and majors

Reporting on the summary of the 2022-2023 school year and the enrollment process, forming the 2023-2027 regular university course, Dr. Trinh Dang Khoa, Vice Principal of the School, said that in the 2022-2023 school year, the school's training scale is 3,282 students at all levels from undergraduate to doctoral, an increase of 237 students compared to the previous school year. This school year, the school organized 11 short-term courses, training professional titles with 1,210 students. The training scale has shifted towards diversifying training types. The school carries out training seriously with a positive, proactive and effective spirit. As of August 2023, the school has reviewed and awarded graduation certificates for the first batch of 613 regular university students (graduation rate of 81.4%).

The school's enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is carried out seriously, systematically, and in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , while being flexible and diverse in communication methods, career counseling, organizing entrance exams and regular university admissions. Enrollment results: the number of candidates coming to enroll is 907/900 determined targets, reaching more than 100% of the plan.

Rewarding students with excellent achievements in study and training

The school has implemented policies for students in accordance with regulations and in a timely manner. As a result, 202 students have received tuition exemptions; 90 students have received social assistance; 33 students have received support for study expenses; 622 students have received scholarships to encourage learning; 75 students have received hardship allowances, and 38 students have received other scholarships. The school has processed procedures for more than 1,000 students to borrow study loans according to the Government 's policy...

At the Opening Ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture awarded 99 students with excellent achievements in studying and training in the 2022-2023 school year; The school awarded 14 new full-time university students with the highest admission scores in the 2023 admissions period of 14 majors and training majors; and awarded scholarships to 100 students in difficult circumstances (VND 2 million/student). On this occasion, BIDV Bank contributed VND 50 million to the scholarship fund for students overcoming difficulties and studying well in 2023 of the school.
