More than 970 officials and civil servants apply for early retirement

- According to statistics from the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee and the Department of Home Affairs, by the end of May 2025, the whole province had 977 cadres and civil servants who had submitted applications for early retirement according to Decree No. 178 dated December 31, 2024 of the Government and Decree No. 67 dated March 15, 2025 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 178.

Mr. Hoang Van Hong, a civil servant at the statistics office of Ai Quoc commune, Loc Binh district, is one of eight cadres and civil servants of the commune who have submitted applications for early retirement.

Implementing the two-level local government organization model (starting from July 1, 2025), the whole province will reorganize 194 commune-level administrative units into 65 grassroots-level administrative units. To ensure the operation of the political system in the new communes, the Party Committees at all levels have developed plans to arrange current district- and commune-level officials and civil servants to be assigned to newly established communes. At the same time, review and receive applications for early retirement of officials and civil servants.

Of the total 977 resignation applications, 130 were from cadres and civil servants of the Party and mass organizations and 847 were from cadres and civil servants of the government. Particularly for the government, implementing the direction of the province, the Department of Home Affairs has informed the groups of beneficiaries when submitting resignation applications and requested agencies and units to review and summarize the number of applications before June 4. On that basis, this June, competent agencies will consider and approve applications for early retirement of cadres and civil servants in the area.
