According to the Department of Planning and Investment, Hai Duong province currently has 27 countries and territories investing in the area. Investors mainly come from Asian countries (accounting for 90%), the rest come from Europe. Of which, Hong Kong (China) is the investor with the highest total foreign direct investment (FDI) capital with more than 4,844 million USD, accounting for 35% of the total current FDI capital.

The total number of Hong Kong investment projects to date is 97 (ranked 3rd in terms of the number of FDI projects). Of which, the Jaks Hai Duong thermal power project is the project with the largest investment capital of Hong Kong in Hai Duong. Hong Kong projects mainly focus on the fields of manufacturing technology, processing, packaging, paper, plastic, etc.

By the end of 2024, the province will have 601 foreign investment projects from 27 countries and territories with a total registered capital of 10,955.6 million USD. There are 338 projects in industrial parks, with a total capital of 6,783.8 million USD; 263 projects outside industrial parks, with a capital of 4,171.8 million USD . In 2024 alone, the province's FDI attraction will reach 756 million USD, ranking 6th in the Red River Delta region and 15th nationwide.

93% of total registered FDI capital is mainly invested in the processing and manufacturing industry.
