Recently, at a meeting to announce a film cooperation funding program between Hong Kong (China) filmmakers and Vietnamese filmmakers, Mr. Gary Mak, representative of the Hong Kong Cultural and Creative Industries Development Authority (CCIDA), said that Hong Kong wishes to exchange and cooperate in film production with Asian partners, including Vietnam.

According to experts, in order not to waste the potential of Vietnam as a destination, we need to strengthen promotional solutions to attract international film crews and take advantage of investment opportunities from other countries to develop film tourism.

According to Mr. Gary Mak, the special Hong Kong-Asia Film Cooperation Funding Scheme will fund up to eight film projects. Each approved project can receive up to HK$9 million to cover its entire production costs.

It can be said that this is an opportunity for filmmakers and directors to turn Vietnam into an international film studio in the near future. At the same time, tourism is also developed through cinema.

Co-production between Hong Kong (China) and filmmakers from other Asian countries aims to optimize the promotion of collaborations in Asian and international markets, as well as achieve in-depth exchanges and mutual learning.

The program aims to enhance international exposure and cultural exchange through collaborative projects on feature films and feature-length animation projects.
