On December 13, in Cao Lanh city ( Dong Thap ), a conference was held to review 2 years of implementing the content of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province and the Committee of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Fatherland in Prey Veng province (2023 - 2024). Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province and Mr. S'bong Sarath, Chairman of the Committee of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Fatherland in Prey Veng province co-chaired the conference.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said that Dong Thap - Prey Veng provinces share a border of more than 50km long, connecting both by river and by land. The cooperative relationship between Vietnam - Cambodia in general and Dong Thap - Prey Veng province in particular has been constantly strengthened and developed in many fields with the motto "Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability".
The two provinces have always maintained and promoted the good traditional cooperative relationship in the fields of maintaining security and order along the border, border demarcation, agriculture , trade, tourism, culture, education, health, etc. In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of Dong Thap province have effectively implemented people's foreign affairs activities, actively coordinated with the Cambodian Fatherland Development Solidarity Front at all levels of Prey Veng province to carry out many practical activities.
According to the Report at the Conference, in the period of 2023 - 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province and the Solidarity Front Committee for the Development of the Cambodian Fatherland in Prey Veng province proactively coordinated with member organizations of the Front, a number of agencies, and local functional forces at district and commune levels to effectively carry out their tasks. The two sides focused on propagating and educating people to comply with policies, laws, as well as agreements and agreements between the two countries. The two provinces have cooperated in the fight against cross-border crimes, organized patrols to protect the border and national border markers. At the same time, the two sides created favorable conditions for working delegations and people to cross the border to exchange, trade goods, receive medical treatment, or visit relatives. These efforts contribute to building a peaceful, friendly and comprehensively cooperative border between Vietnam and Cambodia, especially between Dong Thap and Prey Veng provinces.
Mr. S'bong Sarath, Chairman of the Committee of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland in Prey Veng province, highly appreciated the results of cooperation in various fields between the two provinces in the past time. The local authorities and functional forces of the two provinces have maintained security and order, ensuring safety for people in the border area to visit relatives and receive medical treatment; creating favorable conditions for the import and export of goods such as rice, fertilizer, animal feed, etc., contributing to economic development.
