Online meeting to discuss socio-economic development orientation of the three provinces of Binh Thuan, Lam Dong and Dak Nong

At the meeting, Economic expert Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Huyen presented a summary of the draft outline for socio-economic development of the new Lam Dong province in the period of 2026 - 2030; orientation for economic growth of the new Lam Dong province; key solutions for developing Lam Dong province based on the potential and advantages of the 3 provinces after the merger... At the same time, specific information about the Plan to organize a Workshop on orientations for socio-economic development of the new Lam Dong province in the period of 2026 - 2030 in early June 2025.

At the meeting, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee emphasized: After the merger, the new Lam Dong province will have significant advantages in connecting development centers when Lam Dong is a center of tourism and high-tech agriculture. Dak Nong with advantages in mineral resources, agriculture and energy; Binh Thuan with a system of seaports, renewable energy and marine tourism. To have a complete draft before June 15, it is necessary to have consultation, opinions of experts and coordination of departments and branches of the 3 provinces.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee said that after researching and collecting documents, the leaders of the three provinces need to conduct field surveys on potentials and advantages. From there, they will have clear directions, develop targets and strengths to achieve double-digit economic growth in the coming time.

At the meeting, Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee - Do Huu Huy said that the province agreed with the draft orientation for socio-economic development of Lam Dong province that the experts had drafted. The leadership team of Binh Thuan departments and branches are ready to coordinate with the two provinces as well as the expert team to supplement the content to complete the construction of the documents of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress for the period 2025 - 2030.

Mr. Do Huu Huy emphasized that the most important thing is to set specific targets, how to achieve double-digit GRDP growth. Binh Thuan has just had its provincial planning for the period 2020 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister, and the basic data meets the requirements of the Expert Group.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee further recommended that, in terms of development poles, Binh Thuan currently has a great advantage of being located near Ho Chi Minh City, so the southernmost point of the province is a potential growth pole, in addition to the four growth poles concentrated in the north of the province that experts have outlined. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that experts need to further study the factors of seaports and marine economy; this will be the link of the new province and the export output for neighboring provinces. In particular, Binh Thuan also has the largest titanium mineral resources in the country, so the province hopes that experts will pay attention to including the implementation of deep processing of titanium in the draft. In addition, Binh Thuan is attracting many large-scale industrial parks, close to Ho Chi Minh City, the province has very favorable conditions to attract potential investors to build industrial parks and factories for economic development.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai emphasized: The ultimate goal is to build a long-term orientation with specific goals for the socio-economic development of the new Lam Dong through identifying the development of pillars. The leaders of the three provinces will continue to research and discuss with experts on important and outstanding issues, potentials and strengths of the province in the fields of socio-economic development after the merger into the new Lam Dong province. Thereby, proposing orientations and solutions for socio-economic development of the new Lam Dong province in the period of 2025 - 2030 and the following years. This will be the basis for building the documents of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress in the period of 2025 - 2030 and specialized Resolutions.
