Police of two provinces cooperate to help people receive back more than 100 million VND mistakenly transferred

On April 9, 2025, Ms. Tran Thi Dung (born in 1980, residing in An Binh Ward, Buon Ho Town, Dak Lak Province) accidentally transferred 101.5 million VND to an account under the name of Nguyen Van Nang - a complete stranger while transacting via a banking application. Too worried, immediately after discovering the mistake, Ms. Dung went to report to An Binh Ward Police. Upon receiving the information, An Binh Ward Police quickly verified and initially identified the account owner as Mr. Nguyen Van Nang, currently living in Ma Lam Town, Ham Thuan Bac District, Binh Thuan Province. The unit promptly coordinated with Ma Lam Town Police to contact and support the handling of the case.

Upon receiving information from An Binh Ward Police, Ma Lam Town Police immediately began to verify. During the process, Mr. Nguyen Van Nang was invited to discuss. With a spirit of cooperation and a high sense of responsibility, Mr. Nang proactively coordinated with the police to complete the procedures to return the money he had mistakenly received. By May 15, the entire amount of 101.5 million VND had been fully returned by Mr. Nang, through the support of Ma Lam Town Police.

After receiving the money back, Ms. Tran Thi Dung wrote a thank you letter to the leaders of Binh Thuan Provincial Police and Ma Lam Town Police. In the letter, she expressed her deep gratitude for the dedication and responsibility of the police forces of the two localities, especially Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Trung - Chief of Ma Lam Town Police, and the collective of officers and soldiers of An Binh Ward Police who quickly took action and coordinated smoothly to support the people. Ms. Dung was moved to share that, although she is not a local resident, she received enthusiastic and thoughtful care and help from the police force, which made her feel warm and confident in the spirit of "serving the people" of the People's Police soldiers.
