Desire to contribute to bringing the city named after Uncle Ho into a new era

Admitted to the Party at the age of 18, Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 Nguyen Quoc Trung, a 4th year student, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) considers it an important milestone, marking a turning point in his life.

Nguyen Quoc Trung said he was very proud and felt extremely lucky to be able to study, train and strive in the city named after beloved Uncle Ho. “Ho Chi Minh City creates a wonderful learning and training environment for us. Everyone is dynamic, creative, has a spirit of progress and constantly strives to improve. This environment motivates us to strive, improve our professional skills and cultivate morality to become good citizens,” said Nguyen Quoc Trung.

According to Nguyen Quoc Trung, the environment in which you are studying and practicing has both equal competition and solidarity, cooperation and sharing, so each individual has the opportunity to improve and contribute.

Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings for young people "must strive to learn to constantly improve political , cultural and technical qualifications to serve the Fatherland and the people", Nguyen Quoc Trung said: "I am always aware that I have the responsibility to contribute to the cause of national development. With the spirit of a student party member, I always strive to constantly strive in my studies, while always being aware of my obligations and responsibilities to the organization and the community".

As a student of Chemistry, Nguyen Quoc Trung sees great potential from Vietnam's natural medicinal resources and the increasing demand for public health care. Therefore, Nguyen Quoc Trung hopes to apply the scientific knowledge he has acquired in the classroom and during his international internship to develop pharmaceuticals and provide health care for the people.

“My greatest aspiration is to contribute to the development of Vietnamese medicinal resources and science and technology. I hope that in the future I can bring “made in Vietnam” medicinal products to the world, enhancing the value and influence of Vietnamese science on the international map,” Nguyen Quoc Trung shared his plans after graduation.

Also a member of the young generation, Nguyen Quynh Giang (born in 2001), member of the Executive Committee of the Faculty Youth Union, Secretary of the Y2019 Youth Union, Faculty of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City National University, feels extremely proud to live, study and grow up in the city named after Uncle Ho - the most dynamic and developed economic, cultural and scientific center in the country.

“For me, Ho Chi Minh City is not only a place where intelligence and aspirations converge, but also a land of inspiration - a place that gives the young generation valuable opportunities to study, create and contribute, so that each young person can try their best, mature and affirm their own values. I myself am the one who has been given the opportunity to study and be exposed to the most advanced technologies and solutions by the city. Therefore, I am very grateful and proud to live and study here,” Nguyen Quynh Giang shared.

For Nguyen Quynh Giang, as a young person, she always tells herself to live with ideals, study seriously and constantly improve herself so that in the future she can create value and contribute to the common development of the city and the country.

“I always want to spread the spirit of scientific research to the young generation. In the context of a constantly changing world, I realize that research thinking and creativity are indispensable assets. Scientific research is not only a journey to seek knowledge, but also a path to help each person contribute to the sustainable and more scientific development of the community. I believe that when young people constantly ask questions, dare to think, dare to do and pursue new ideas, Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country will quickly catch up and stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers in the future,” Nguyen Quynh Giang confidently shared.

As a young citizen and young entrepreneur, Mr. Mai Thanh Thai (born in 1992), co-founder and supply chain manager of UFO Technology and Trading Company Limited, is always proud to live and contribute in the city named after beloved Uncle Ho.

“Moreover, I am very honored and proud to be selected as a delegate to attend the 8th National Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings - 2025. Uncle Ho's teachings on creativity and the will to rise have always been a guiding principle and a strong inspiration for me in my journey to build my business with the mindset of following Uncle Ho's example: Perseverance, creativity and serving the community. I believe that this recognition will help my development journey and my business continue to move forward, rising with the city and the country into the era of rising of the Vietnamese people", Mr. Mai Thanh Thai shared.
