Eric Xu, Huawei's rotating chairman, said that in 2022, the challenging external business environment and non- market factors have somewhat damaged Huawei's operations. However, Huawei remains steadfast, continuing to race to maintain smooth business operations and best serve customers.
"2023 will be a crucial year for Huawei's sustainable development and survival roadmap. Huawei is confident in its ability to overcome all limits and challenges, and build a solid foundation for sustainable development and survival," Chairman Eric Xu emphasized.

In a more detailed analysis of the 2022 financial situation, Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou said that despite significant pressure last year, Huawei's overall business results were still on track as previously forecast. At the end of the year, the debt-to-equity ratio was 58.9% and the net cash balance was $25.35 billion.
In addition, total assets balance reached 143.82 billion USD, mostly including current assets such as: cash, short-term investments and operating assets.
Looking back over the past year, total spending on R&D still reached $23.23 billion - accounting for 25.1% of total annual revenue and one of the highest levels in Huawei's history.
Breaking down the structure of the company's three main business activities in 2022, a Huawei representative said that revenue from the telecommunications equipment, enterprise solutions, and consumer devices businesses will reach 40.84 billion USD; 19.16 billion USD; and 30.85 billion USD, respectively.
Huawei has been a strong advocate of collaborative development with ecosystem partners, and believes that an open and collaborative spirit will lead to shared success and prosperity. The company continues to expand its platform capabilities across HarmonyOS, Kunpeng, Ascend, and its cloud portfolio, focusing on improving the developer experience, and connecting and supporting ecosystem partners across the board.
