Nearly 500 candidates dropped out of the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi

According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, during the exam registration procedure this morning, more than 102,000 candidates were present at the exam site to complete the exam registration procedure, reaching a rate of 99.52%. The entire city had 495 candidates absent, not coming to complete the exam registration procedure. According to the regulations, these candidates will not be allowed to participate in the Math, Literature, and Foreign Language exams.

According to the prediction of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the absent candidates may have decided to study vocational training or private schools, so they did not come to take the exam.

The number of officials, teachers and staff present was more than 15,000, reaching a rate of 99.97%. The absent exam invigilators were assigned backup teachers according to regulations. In addition, in the area, there were 11 candidates who had health problems right before the exam and needed medical assistance.

Nearly 500 candidates did not come to complete the procedures for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training assessed that the facilities at the examination sites were fully prepared according to regulations, 100% of the examination sites coordinated with security forces and police to fully prepare plans to ensure safety and security in the examination site and the area outside the gate. Each examination site has 1 backup generator.

The Department of Education and Training has also directed to strengthen security measures at examination sites such as: rooms, cabinets for storing exam papers and exam questions; security camera system; and personnel.

Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam begins on the morning of June 7 with the Literature subject. In the afternoon of the same day, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam. On the morning of June 8, candidates will take the Math exam. Candidates taking the specialized exam will take the specialized subject exam on June 9.

The whole city has 4,411 examination rooms, 201 examination sites, 15,173 cadres, teachers, employees, and police participating in the organization work, and more than 2,000 cadres and teachers participating in marking the exams.

This year, Hanoi has about 127,000 junior high school graduates, of whom more than 103,000 registered for the 10th grade public high school entrance exam. According to the Department of Education and Training, at least 64% of students registered for the exam passed the 10th grade public high school entrance exam, equivalent to more than 81,000 students.

It is expected that around July 4-6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will simultaneously announce the exam scores and grade 10 benchmark scores. Successful candidates will confirm their enrollment from July 10-12.
