Meanwhile, in Phu Tai ward of Phan Thiet city (old), people who used to work in the sea and related services now work in the sea. In the area, there are 77 boats with a capacity of over 45CV, creating stable jobs for more than 600 workers. Solutions to support fishermen in upgrading and converting boats and developing offshore fishing have been implemented for a long time, so the annual fishing output basically meets and exceeds the target.
In addition, there are some bustling business streets, connecting half of Le Duan Street through Nguyen Hoi Street to Truong Chinh Street... helping Binh Thuan Ward to have a rate of commercial service development. In addition to Van Thanh Market, Ham Hiep Market has been invested in upgrading, newly built to expand commercial activities, many business sectors in the ward, especially seafood processing establishments, trading in construction materials, gasoline, purchasing and exporting dragon fruit... are always bustling. Up to now, the whole ward has 1,263 enterprises, production - business establishments, individual business households.
Based on the actual characteristics, especially currently there are a series of large and small projects that are being and will be started in the ward, plus the Phong Nam - Phu Tai industrial cluster connecting with Phan Thiet industrial park, so many people predict that the proportion of industry - construction will increase over time. But in any case, the nature of the areas is agriculture - fishery is still at the coverage level. That is the reason why some delegates of Binh Thuan ward discussed that the economic structure of the ward should be agriculture - fishery; industry - construction; services - trade.
Besides, there are also other opinions, that is, Binh Thuan ward is currently a strategic area in terms of urban - industrial - regional transportation connection. Not only are there other commune-ward connection projects under construction, in the coming time, when implementing other important projects and works in the area, the economic structure of the ward will be more clearly shown in the direction of services - trade, industry - construction, agriculture - fishery. For that to become a reality in accordance with the spirit of the Draft Political Report submitted to the 1st Congress, term 2025-2030 of the ward, which will take place on July 29, it also means that the Binh Thuan Ward Party Committee must successfully implement 4 key tasks and all 3 breakthroughs.
The first key task that emerged was: “Focus on organizing the review, development and adjustment of urban-rural spatial development planning according to new thinking, in line with the socio-economic development orientation and actual conditions after the merger. Focus on mobilizing all resources to effectively carry out site clearance for works and projects in the ward”.
It is worth noting that 11 major projects in the ward are mostly key projects of the old Binh Thuan province. The road project from Le Duan - Truong Chinh intersection to the expressway interchange and land fund on both sides of the road; Binh Thuan Economic Zone, High-Tech Park; High-speed Railway Urban Area (TOD); Van Thanh Bridge; Ca Ty River Apartment... just hearing the names, you can see the decisive factor in expanding the space, scale and stature of Binh Thuan ward when completed.
From here, services and trade also boom. That is when the opportunity for the second key task takes place: "Continue to restructure the economy in the direction of "Services - trade, industry - construction, agriculture - fishery", associated with transforming the growth model towards green, circular, efficient and sustainable, based on the foundation of innovation, science - technology and digital transformation".
From here, breakthroughs in infrastructure and urban space; in science - technology, digital transformation and investment environment; in personnel work and state management effectiveness will be promoted. In general, it is necessary to promote the effective mobilization of resources for investment in developing socio-economic infrastructure. Accordingly, improve the investment environment, create favorable conditions for enterprises, cooperatives, and business households; promote the role of people and enterprises in local economic development.
Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Thuan Ward Nguyen Hong Phap shared that as a part of Lam Dong province - a locality with an important political position - Binh Thuan Ward will promote its advantages from the foundation of key projects in the area such as the road project from Le Duan - Truong Chinh intersection to the expressway interchange and land funds on both sides of the road; North - South high-speed railway (with station); Economic zone, high-tech zone (Binh Thuan); High-speed railway urban area (TOD) ... opening up opportunities for strong connection and trade. Putting services - trade ahead of industry - construction, agriculture - fishery means that in the face of new opportunities, Binh Thuan Ward has a new vision.
