Leaders of Huu Lung district and delegates pulled the ribbon to inaugurate the project to remove temporary houses for households in especially difficult circumstances in Minh Son commune.
According to the approved list, Huu Lung district has 20 houses supported for new construction and 184 houses supported for repair according to Resolution No. 188 dated October 25, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on implementing the program to support the elimination of temporary houses and dilapidated houses for households with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change in the province. This is one of the 4 districts with the largest number of houses in need of repair in the province.
To implement the above resolution, the district has proposed 2 implementation phases, in which phase 1 strives to complete the construction of 20 new houses and repair 85 houses before the Lunar New Year 2025; phase 2 strives to complete the repair of 99 houses for households before April 30, 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Toan, Chairman of the District Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Huu Lung district, said: Determining to speed up the implementation progress, one of the important factors is to mobilize resources for implementation. Accordingly, the Fatherland Front from the district to the grassroots has actively promoted, mobilized, received funding and resources to support the program. At the same time, coordinated with political and social organizations to promote and mobilize union members to participate in supporting working days to transport construction materials, and support the construction of works. During the implementation process, the District Fatherland Front proactively coordinated closely with relevant agencies and units to grasp information and progress of house repairs in communes; implemented daily and weekly reporting regimes according to regulations, promptly removed difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level.
As a result, before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, the district completed the construction and repair of houses in phase 1 as planned with a budget of more than 6.4 billion VND. For phase 2 of the program, the District Steering Committee submitted to the province a budget allocation to support the repair of 99 houses in the area. As of March 28, the entire district had repaired 100% of the works in phase 2, of which 50 works were completed.
Through the program, many temporary and dilapidated houses in Huu Lung district have been replaced with solid, sturdy houses, helping many households with housing difficulties to settle down and gradually improve their lives.
Mr. Ly Van Tho's family is a particularly difficult household in Ca Trong village, Minh Son commune. Previously, his family lived in a seriously degraded house but could not afford to rebuild it. Thanks to the support of all levels and sectors, in early January 2025, the family had a new, spacious house. Mr. Tho shared: Living in a new house, my family feels very secure, from now on, we do not have to worry about housing anymore. This is a great motivation for us to strive to develop the economy , step by step to stabilize our lives.
Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee said: Through monitoring, we see that Huu Lung district is a locality that always takes the initiative in solutions to effectively implement the support program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and is one of the typical units in the progress of implementing new construction and repairing houses for people according to Resolution No. 188 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.
Along with implementing projects according to Resolution No. 188 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Huu Lung district is currently supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 345 families according to Decision No. 1133 dated March 17, 2025 of the District People's Committee on approving the list of housing support for meritorious households, poor households, near-poor households, households affected by natural disasters, climate change and other subjects in the district. Of which, support for building new houses for 222 households, support for house repairs for 123 households. By March 27, the district had supported the construction and repair of 120 houses, of which 32 projects had been completed; the district set a goal of striving to complete 100% of the projects before September 30, 2025.
