Dich Long Cave was given the title "Nam Thien De Tam Dong" - the third most beautiful cave in the South by King Minh Mang.
According to legend, Dich Long cave was discovered by a woodcutter in 1739. In 1990, Dich Long cave and pagoda were ranked as national monuments.
Dich Long Cave is located halfway up Dich Long Mountain, about 80 m above the foot of the mountain. From the foot of the mountain to the cave entrance, you have to climb more than 100 stone steps.
Standing at the cave entrance, the wind blowing in sounded like a flute, so the locals named the cave Dich Long.
Tam Quan Gate was built at the entrance to the cave.
The cave consists of three interconnected caves. From the main entrance of the cave is the outdoor cave, the Buddha worship area; next is the dark cave and the light cave.
Sang Cave has many stalactites forming images of Buddha, kneeling elephants, and reclining horses...
The dark cave is longer and wider. The stalactites in this cave form many vivid images placed by the locals such as: elephants drinking water from jars, tigers drinking water from jars, monkeys carrying their babies, old women selling medicine, money trees, gold trees, silver trees, rice trees...
The stalactites in the cave still sparkle, their colors changing with the sunlight. When you tap a stone lightly on the stalactites, it makes a sound like the ringing of a bell.
At the foot of the mountain is Dich Long pagoda and a stone temple worshiping Ly Quoc Su, also known as Saint Nguyen.
Dich Long Cave was awarded by King Minh Mang as "Nam Thien De Tam Dong" - the third most beautiful cave in the South. In 1990, Dich Long Cave and Pagoda were ranked as national monuments.
