In the 1980s, the Han River Grass Caravan captivated audiences, and the Huong Mua Thu troupe toured everywhere, then recorded on television, continuing to "capture the hearts" of audiences. Now, WE Event & Entertainment Company Limited and Song Viet Performance Organization Company Limited have jointly invested seriously, recreating a new, magnificent, and colorful version.

The play boldly brought a villain to the center. That was Tran Dinh (Minh Truong), the young master of a horse farm that served the Lam Son insurgents. His life seemed perfect thanks to his love for the horse trainer Oanh Kieu (Meritorious Artist Ngoc Doi). However, greed and desire pushed Tran Dinh down the wrong path: he blindly gave his leading horse Bach Long Phi to the Ming invaders. His act of betraying the country made Tran Dinh pay a heavy price. Only when he received the bitter consequences did he wake up and begin his journey to redeem his mistakes.
The Han River Grass Carry is not only a story about rescuing a fine horse, but is actually a journey to find one’s self, to seek noble human values in troubled times. After many events, everyone gathered under the Lam Son flag, together to regain independence for the nation.
Director Meritorious Artist Hoa Ha has staged the play with a fast, powerful tempo, balancing lyrical and action elements, continuously captivating the audience. The music is pure Vietnamese reformed opera, combined with choreography and symbolic visuals, creating a harmonious artistic whole. The cast is young but very solid and even. Ngoc Doi, Minh Truong, Nha Thy, Bao Tri, Khanh Du, Pham Vu Thanh, Ly Trung Cuong, Bien Thuy, Trong Hieu, Hoang Chuong, Thanh Thuan... have completely transformed into the characters from appearance to singing and acting, worthy of being a trustworthy generation of reformed opera.
