According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Tay Ha commune, the entire DH83 route with a length of 37.39km from Km2+660 in the former Son Mau commune to the border of the former Son Long commune had more than 35 large landslides and dozens of small landslides.
The most serious landslide on Highway DH83 at Km8+200 is on the positive slope with an estimated length of 50m and the negative slope with an estimated length of 40m, causing the roadbed to be completely broken. Currently, this route cuts off traffic to Son Tay Ha commune.

At the scene, nearly 50m of road and drainage ditches, culverts, telecommunication and electricity poles were pulled down into the abyss. The landslide created a hole dozens of meters deep, with an estimated volume of landslides reaching more than 20,000m3 .

To support the people of Ta Vinh village with necessities through Highway 83 at Km8+200, the locality had to transport relief goods using homemade pulleys or temporary paths across the mountain that were more than 1km long, slippery and very difficult to move.

Also on route DH83, there are dozens of other large and small landslides, such as: at Km2+900 there is a landslide on the positive slope, estimated to be about 30m long; at Km3+300 there is a landslide on the positive slope with an estimated length of about 50m and a landslide on the negative slope with an estimated length of about 20m; at Km 7+100 a landslide on the negative slope created a frog jaw affecting the D1000 drainage culvert, estimated to be about 15m long....

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh said that the severe landslide on Route DH83 has isolated over 1,000 households with nearly 4,000 people and the commune's administrative center.

Meanwhile, the Son Tinh - Son Thuong route (connecting to Son Ha commune) also had many landslides, especially a 3.5km long dirt road that was eroded, causing separation from the commune to neighboring communes.

The People's Committee of Son Ha Tay commune requested the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and branches to inspect, find solutions, arrange funds for urgent repairs to ensure traffic, ensure safety and declare an emergency situation regarding natural disasters regarding landslides on hills, mountains, river banks and streams caused by rain and floods in the area.
