In the trend of finding and renewing cultural and artistic values that have shaped history, LucTeam has cleverly conveyed into this classic work the breath of the times to open up an experiment of intersection between psychological reality and the trademark symbolic-expressionist technique.

People's Artist Tran Luc's decision to rediscover "Tomorrow the sky will shine again" stemmed from his strong belief in the script's intrinsic value and eternal timeliness. Author Dinh Xuan Hoa (1917-1983) was one of the few Vietnamese who received formal training in drama and cinema in France. In 1937, he went to the south and founded the Nam Viet Publishing House in Saigon.

In 1950, he went to France to study Cinema and Drama, and from there followed a professional artistic path in both cinema and theater. He wrote many scripts, many of which were made into plays and films. After 1975, author Dinh Xuan Hoa continued to teach theater and cinema acting classes at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema.

The work is staged with fresh appeal.

"Tomorrow the sky will shine again" was first performed in 1959 and immediately received high praise for its content and form. After that, the work was performed at events such as the Popular Music Week in 1960 at Thanh Binh theater, with the participation of famous actors at that time such as Kieu Hanh, Minh Trang, Bich Huyen, Dinh Xuan Hoa, Anh Tuan, Anh Viet... The play created a lot of attraction at that time, recognized by critics for solving important issues in a constructive way and deeply expressing the material and emotional life of the characters in a typical way.

For director Tran Luc, the fundamental difference between theatre and other art forms such as literature or cinema is the ability to innovate, the ability to "breathe into it the breath of the times". He sees the script as not at all old-fashioned, but on the contrary, very modern because it touches on universal human issues that are never out of date: love, marriage, differences in life perspectives and family tragedies swept away by a money-driven society.

The story revolves around the dramatic marriage of a young couple, deeply in love but completely opposite in their views and ways of life. Personal degeneration and social pressure turn the beginning of love into sin, broken and separated. The non-linear structure of the script, with the present and the past taking place in parallel, is a very modern structural element, far beyond the popular playwriting of the time.

Bringing this play back to the Hanoi stage - the hometown of author Dinh Xuan Hoa - after more than 60 years not only shows respect for the heritage, but also affirms an indispensable part of Vietnam's literary and artistic history. As director Tran Luc expressed his wish: "Bring him (Dinh Xuan Hoa) back to his hometown - Hanoi. His plays and films have never been released in the place where he was born".

Director Tran Luc's point of view is very clear and open: In the 21st century, contemporary theater accepts all methods and styles. The most important thing is how to make a good work, to touch the audience's heart. Therefore, the director chose a staging style that smoothly blends realistic acting and conventional theater.

Accordingly, the actors are required to perform in a realistic, life-like manner, delving into the inner workings of the characters. The appeal of the play lies in the psychological developments from within that lead to the characters' external actions. The most typical are Loc - the intellectual husband, and Van - the individualistic, playboy wife. They represent two opposite entities, tolerating each other until they explode.

The play brings together young faces in their twenties.

Meanwhile, the stage space is arranged in a minimalist and symbolic way. The only highlight is the wooden platform placed in the middle of the stage, assembled from simple planks. This platform is a multi-meaning symbolic device: it is both a living space, a timeline, and especially a materialized image of the inner world of the character Loc. The platform becomes a symbol of home, dreams, deadlocks, and finally, breakdown.

Despite its highly experimental nature, "Tomorrow the Sky Will Shine Again" possesses the core elements to win over the mass audience. People's Artist Tran Luc and LucTeam have skillfully turned philosophical issues into an engaging story.

The first attraction comes from Dinh Xuan Hoa's script. He writes with a very tight structure, a tight story, and the characters all have very prominent lives. The story is gradually opened through the lawyer's narration to his daughter, creating surprise, drama, and attracting viewers through each fast and urgent development.

In addition, the script's dialogue is described as "extremely ordinary". This ordinary nature helps the audience to receive the story naturally, without having to decode the scholarly theatrical language. That value highlights the social and human issues hidden behind the simplicity.

The artists had time to practice and exchange openly.

While plays like "Quan" or "Bach dan lieu" conquer the audience with the novelty of the physical form, this play requires the actors to be good at psychology, to be able to express "inner depth". LucTeam has assigned this responsibility to the young cast, most of whom are new graduates of director Tran Luc, with the oldest age only about 25-26 years old.

Director Tran Luc considers each play of LucTeam as a new experiment, and the experimental stage is a place for artists to bring works that blend many different methods of expression. This time, the experimental value does not lie in creating a completely new style of expression but in proving that the conventional method can become a powerful tool to highlight "the inner world with many emotional levels of each character" in a realistic scenario.
